Scammer claimed to be Richard Lavery giving away $500,000 to 50 random people. Provided a number to text claiming it was the Managing Director Agent Rick Lewis (424-524-9396).

Greetings, this is RICHARD LAVERY from North Quincy. On Thursday, November 10, 2022,I claimed the $20 million US Powerball jackpot. In the drawing held earlier this week, which included a world record $2.04 billion prize, my ticket matched the first five numbers. This winning ticket was bought by me at Quincy's West Squantum Market & Liquors. However, I declared that I have no immediate intentions to use my riches, therefore I'm giving $500,000 USD CASH to 50 lucky winners. If you received this SMS, your number was chosen at random following an automated machine spin ball.For confirmation of your winnings, please text the managing director agent, John Sumners, at (267)689-2508, mentioning your claimant code, HD50.

Scammer sent initial text introducing themselves as 2022 powerball lottery winner Richard Lavery, and reffering me to another phone number to text.

That number (202) 590-9784 claimed to be Mr. Lavery’s agent Charles Ruby who requested a list of personal identifiers including a picture. After supplying (Fake) information, the messenger sent messages about security theater, and then about “choosing a password for your cash box”

After supplying a passcode and “activating”, I was presented with a 300 dollar handling charge. On asking for payment method, this was upped to 500 dollars.

Attached pictures feature all messages received, excluding repeats. My own answers are cropped or removed.
