I am not a homeowner, but keep receiving phone calls from purported home improvement services companies assuming that I am a homeowner and asking if I am interested in their services. I do not know how my number was placed on this list, and I always ask to be removed. Today, the caller gave his initial spiel, and then I told him that I have no idea how “you people” got my number, but I am not a homeowner, and I attempted to ask he take my phone number off the list. However, before I could make my request, the caller called me “racist”, to which I foolishly asked why, and he said it was due to my use of the phrase “you people”. This is of course outrageous as I was referring to these numerous purported home improvement companies that keep calling, and would have no idea what his race was from a phone call, and so I asked to speak to his supervisor. He told me he is the supervisor, and I told him I was sure he has a boss and I want to speak with them. He started speaking over me, and then hung up on me. I tried to call the phone number back, and discovered the phone number was not in service, and therefore likely spoofed and not from a legitimate business.
