received letter stating that I must call immediately but I already have coverage through the dealer I purchased my vehicle from. I really hate companies like this they prey on innocent people. These people need to be stopped.

- Nacogdoches, TX, USA • May 26, 2024

These people knew re my vehicle, but did not know the VIN or current mileage. Same quotes as guy in January, 2024 - "FINAL NOTICE" and "We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility" blah blah blah. I'd say they're trying to con people, likely not legitimate, or they'd include their business name if they were honest.

SCAMMER ALERT! BASURA / TRASH IT AND IGNORE
I received the same letter. It a bogus scheme to get peoples money

- Kents Store, VA, USA

It came in a letter through USPS signed " Andrew Williams" asking me to call and provide my car VIN and current mileage. It states our factory warranty has expired and threatens that I will be responsible for all repairs if I don't call within 5 days. It does not provide a company name but the contents suggest it is from Honda.

Received ANOTHER (this is one of probably 25) letter/post card without any return address or company information, claiming that my "vehicle service contract" has expired or is abt to expire. Well, I never have had any vehicle service contract in my entire life in all the years I have always been a customer of Toyota and I know for a fact they do not arbitrarily send unsolicited letters or post cards lime this to customers. These only started coming after I made the mistake of getting an aut insurance quite from one of those cheap auto quote websites online bc my teen daughter got her license and needed insurance. They either stole, bought my info or they mirrored the website but either way this is an illegal phishing sceme done by some call center in India or Indonesia/Phillipines looking to hook some older person who believes this is real and gives them their credit card or bank info so they can clean them out. DO NOT CONTACT THESE [censored]!

IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED

Our records indicate that you have not contacted us to have your vehicle service contract activated. We are informing you that if your factory warranty has expired, you will be responsible for paying any repairs. However, if expired, you can still activate a service contract on your vehicle before it's too late.

Vehicle warranty expiration notice after transferring vehicle in different counties within VA. No business name, logo, or website. Name for contact listed as Andrew Williams. Scam has current vehicle and address information. Scam requests VIN and mileage.

- Lynn, MA, USA

Received a letter stating if I did not contact the phone number provided my cars warranty would be denied. They had my name address and vehicle make model and year.

- Brownwood, TX, USA

Sent letter that did not have a company name or logo. Nothing “identifiable” except a phone number and program coordinator’s name of Andrew Taylor. When I called on a Sunday, a man named Angel answered the phone. I started asking questions about the company and told him I was going to call my current company tomorrow. He told me they represented my current company - he could not tell me who that was. He rudely asked “then why did you call?” Wow - I hung up and called back a few minutes later and he knew my name based off of my phone number. I asked who Andrew Taylor was and he couldn’t tell me. He wanted to verify my personal info and collect a payment for continuation of coverage. I told him I would call on Monday and talk with a supervisor.

Andrew Taylor? LOL. My letter has Andrew “Williams”.

I received mail in my correct name stating I needed to respond immediately to get my vehicle service contract activated, etc. The sender has no information except for the phone number I provided above. I don’t know what company they are with or what address they sent the mail from.

Vehicle service contract posing as the manufacturer

- Fort Worth, TX, USA

I received multiple letters saying immediate response required and that I need to activate my vehicle service contract or I will be responsible for repairs to my vehicle. The letter was threatening, utilized my name, my address, the year and make of my vehicle, and created a “Customer ID” for me in order to seem legitimate.

I bought a car recently and have received a "Immediate Response to this Notice Requested" with regard to a vehicle service contract that has not been activated. I usually rip these up and toss them. I tend err on the side of caution when it comes to junk mail. This has no business name, only a phone number. The summary of terms for the "contracts" are all TBD. Another red flag in my opinion.

Please refer to uploaded image. I don't recall if there was return address on the envelope because I threw it away.

- Burlington, MA, USA

Letter received trying to urgently get me to buy their "extended warranty". Trying to pass off as my car dealership

Received 7 ‘vehicle warranty’ scam notifications at my new address in TN since I moved here from FL 1 month ago. They have my correct name, new address, and car make/model/year. Not sure if the State of California or Virginia or Tennessee might be illegally selling PI, as I had titles changed from VA/CA to TN when I moved here. Never received these scam notifications before, so too coincidental to not be tied to the new registration in TN.

- Greenville, SC, USA

Being harassed by Vehicle Services Division. Repeatedly, they keep sending me a “Final Notice” with a check for $199.00 attached. 0n notice, the following info appears: “Notice Date: 6/2/2023, Contact Phone: 1-877-205-9492, Record ID: CIL45813540, Respond By: 6/12/2023.” Towards the bottom they write: “Please Call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU 1–877–205–9492.” This is insane! The Vehicle Services Division keeps sending me this letter throughout the year, despite this being a “Final Notice!” The notice also makes it easy for dishonest predators to sign my name and cash the check! How is this legal and how are they allowed to keep doing this?! I’m sick of them!
