Received a suspicious check and final notice letter in the mail

Received in the mail from 1(800) 803-9220. Addressed to me at my address. No return address and no other identifying information about them. "Lender info: Approval Pending " printed above my address. Allocated Waiver check-like form for $195.00 signed by "William H. Keating" is attached.

Notice said Call to verify information. Attention: This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at, (my address), secured by your current lender. We reserve the right to revoke the allocated waver after 7 days of receiving this notice. Please call immediately as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU: 1-800-803-9220.

I assumed it was a scam and did not respond.

Received a phony check in the mail from a suspicious phone number

My wife received a letter from 1(800) 803-9220, addressed by her EMAIL name to our address. I had an attached phony check for $195.00. It said on the check, it was an Allocated Waiver. The only contact was the phone number 1-800-803-9220. The vip code it was mailed from is 95813.
