Type of a scam Employment
A tall foreigner gentlemen came to my door was wearing a short sleeved shirt that read MADA CONSTRUCTION and phone number of the company. I never noted the number down.He explained the all about the program for the free heat pumps. The cost of the heat pumps would be between 15,000.00 and 20,000.00. This person was explaining and referencing to the efficiency ns site to show me that everything he was explaining was ligate.
He went by the name Oscar Kaby that there were several steps that were to be taken through different people, the first step that he needs to do a credit check first to see if i was eligible. I was asked for my drivers licences for the credit check. I did hand it over. I was becoming very uncomfortable at this time, he said this will take 15 to 20 mins. I said i need to call efficiency ns to confirm this is legiate. He stated that i would be waiting on hold with them for 20mins, In the meantime my credit check came back good. I still decided to call effiecney ns. As i was calling them Oscar said again, i would be waiting for them, i said it don`t matter i don`t feel comfortable with this. Oscar said tell them that i am through enerhome auditors and they will know right away who i am. My thought right then was Oscar was wanting me to think he was legiate and i wouldn``t go through with my call. As he seen i was staying on hold he said he had another appointment he would go to, and to call him after i speak with ns home efficiency and he would come back and we would finish up the paper work by me signing an application for the funding. He left i spoke with ns efficiency about this situation i was told by them this person was not legiate and said i would strongly recommend not letting him back into your home.
They asked for his name and phone number and i gave it to them. Home efficiency said they will investigate this. I did call back Oscar and told him i spoke with Home efficiency and said they never heard of you, he continued to speak confident with his work and he could come back over to finish the paperwork. I said i don't think so. Oscar said still fill out for the home efficiency grant and they will be sending me out again. He really tired to manipulate me thinking he was the real person that i would invite him back to sign. I hung up.
Never heard from him again. I did learn from the police station secretary that next day that there was someone going around the provinces and doing this. That were getting people to sign and once you sign they get that amount from and flee. I went with my gut instinct and that saved me from losing between fifteen and twenty thousand dollars.
