said that windows crashed and would compromise my computer, and that they wanted to refund the software. left as voicemail, clearly wanted to get my banking information by pretending they were going to send me money.

- Gainesville, FL, USA

They called and said they had been getting messages that I had been having trouble with my computer and it will crash and I will lose everything. They told me I know your thinking we are a scam and they gave me a license number that was suppose to have come from my computer so I just told them I was not interested.

I received a phone call from someone who said they were with Windows and my licensing number on my computer had expired. They called me from 888-978-7722. I did not agree to their service or pay them any money.

Something wrong with my computer. Pay money to have computer fixed. Did not talk to company.

Said my computer was having problems. I do not have a computer. I called back asked for the number of the head office they hung up. The person on the line sounded like the person who called me earlier doing the IRS Scam I would say the same people. Who I also called back and when I asked for further info. they too hung up on me.

Mr. John Williams called and stated my windows has been hacked into. He needed me to go to a website, which I do not have the address for. Mr. Williams wanted to go into my computer and update all my files. while I am on the phone with him. I let him into my computer, he was updating he wanted me to go to the different stores, CVS, Target, Family Dollar and buy 5 I tune cards for $100.00 or buy 10 $50.00 I tune cards.. I went to CVS and was told by CVS that this was a scam. Mr. Williams told me after purchasing the card to call him and give him the security number. He also mentioned the IRS. I did not purchase the card.

I was called by a man saying he was from Windows and that I had viruses on my computer. He has called 2-3 times a week and could barely speak English. The caller ID shows as Robinson Bail Bonds. When I told him I knew this was a scam he swore at me. I did not let him get to the point of money or going to my computer to give him access.

Stated people were attempting to get into my computer and said they could assist me in blocking them. This was a telephone call.

they say they are from windows and they need to access your computer due to a message they keep getting from your computer to their office and ask you to log on and let them fix it

Someone named Jack (last name possibly Daniels--it was hard to understand the name he gave) phoned my residence on May 27, 2016, at 3:17 p.m. and told me that he was calling because my computer was receiving a Windows error message. He asked which version of Windows I have on my computer. I told him that I know this is a scam and that I would not tell him anything but would report him. I called *69 on my home phone to get the number from which he called--225-665-8423.

someone call my wife claiming to be a worker at windows. Telling my wife her computer has sent them a message that it was having errors. She gave the phone to me and the man told me the same thing. I asked him how he got the phone number and he said when I bought the computer I had to give them my number to have windows put on the computer and that I need to press a couple keys so he could have control of my computer. I asked for his name and he told me Fred. I told him he should pick a better name since he couldn't speak my language and that I built this computer and put the windows on it myself. That's when he hang up.

Two men, one calling himself Mark (no last name) called and told me they were getting reporlts of problems with my computer. They talked me through looking at my computer to discover my microsoft protections were disabled, and also told me my commercially purchased spyware was disconnected. They swore they were not trying to sell me anything and told me it is in my agreement that I signed when I downloaded Windows 10 that I would have to buy malware coverage in order to activate Microsoft protections. Please notice, they told me they were receiving alerts, then told me the system by which they were receiving alerts is turned off. When I challenged them, they hung up on me. Thank goodness they didn't disable my computer in the process!

Last night at 9:41, I received a call from an international number, 541-826-3174. The lady with a strong accent asked if I was the owner of the computer in the house. I said I was. At the time, both of my computers were turned off. She asked if I was aware that I was sending out information from a program called (random letters and numbers). As I have had these calls before, I asked if she was aware that what she was doing is illegal. She said yes, the information I was sending out was illegal. She said that this was going to harm my computer. I laughed and said, no, it's not. That's when she threatened me by saying "You just wait 15 minutes and see" and then hung up. I have had these calls many times before, but this is the first time there was a threat involved.

Posed as if from "Windows" and said my computer has an error. I didn't listen any further. Told them they were a scam and I would turn in their phone number. Called twice. Once, the number said JONESMARY and I didn't answer. The next time said UNKNOWN. Same number.

got a call from this number saying they were from windows. I knew it was a scam. This is the number: 181 486 3979

- Saint Albans, WV, USA

Phone Read: out of area 000-000-0000.

Said they are calling from Windows Technical Dept..

Said my computer has been emitting Warnings for the past 2-3 days. They want access to my computer. Need to access CLS ID #.

If I don't give them access to fix this now, my computer will be shut down for several hours.

Said their call back number is 216.647.0087 or 888.901.6488, but I must call the 216 number.

The voice and voices in the background appear to be Indian.

Became rude when questioned. They argued that Microsoft is a corporation would never call. That's why they're calling.

They were very persistent focusing on me getting access to the computer .

I have had numerous calls from someone saying they are from Windows warning me that my computer is infected and I need to get in front of my computer and enter what they tell me to. They do not speak good English. They are very insistent that they are from Windows.

The bad part is that when I was visiting my 89 year old dad and 86 year old mom, they called. If I had not been there to intercept the call, my parents might have entered what they told them to do and their computer would have been compromised.
