I received a text message that said I was picked to be a Walmart secret shopper and that I would receive an envelope within two day for $300.00 to do survey's. The package arrived on Monday 11/26/2018 with a check from Purdue Federal Credit Union in the amount of $1390.20. I was instructed to go to Walmart and buy three Gift Cards in the amount of $350.00 and the remaining balance of $300.00 would be mine. Walmart Neighborhood Research. Purchase items, copy receipts, make notes of cleanliness etc. Then mail a large amount of check to two individuals named in the letter. This seemed very strange as I don't remember the email or "signing up" for this.

Products ordered through Walmart were not delivered to me although my account showed "delivered." After calling Walmart, they told me to contact Christomart directly which I did. Christomart said they would refund my account. After a week of no refund, I again contacted Christomart and they said their system showed it as refunded so I'd have to take it up with Walmart. When I contacted Walmart, they said they contacted Christomart and Christomart said they had refunded my money so Walmart was going to side with them. My calls to Walmart to straighten this out were "dropped" so I can't speak to anyone and I received an email from Walmart saying my account was closed and my email address is blocked. So I have no product, no refund, and no way to try to resolve the issue. I believe Walmart and Christomart are working together to commit fraud.

I got an email to be a secret shopper through the walmart app. 2 days later I received a money order for 2950.00 it instructed me to deposit it in my bank account the immediately take the money out. My bank knew immediately it was fraud and told me to report it. I was suppose to keep 350 and buy walmart gift cards scratch the silver off send the code in a photo to a phone number.i felt it was all to good to be true.

The Wal-Mart and Target names are being used as bait in a scam. I received a card in the mail that tells me $*** is being held for me that can be used at "Wall-Mart, Target and more". I contacted Target Corporate to see if there is a promotion that they are part of and was told no. I was asked for the details of the scam (phone number to call) so they could look into it, and I sent the info to Wall-Mart, as well. The number I am not going to call is *-***-***-*** and my Claim *: *** if you want to follow up. Since I did not call the number, I don't know if they were trying to get money or get personal information. I put "yes" to money on your form because there isn't a choice for "I was too smart to call and find out". The numbers being blocked on this form are nothing to do with me--they are the phone and claim numbers on the card I received and the amount being held for me $100.

I received an email stating I’d been accepted to a certain survey group, this wasn’t odd to me because I sign up and do a lot of online surveys. I decided to come back to the email later and didn’t respond then not even 10 min later I got a text stating that it was this group and asking if I received my package. I said no and they text back saying I should’ve received today, stated my address and what time the packages arrived. I went and checked and the package was indeed there. I opened it up and there was a check for $***. I was instructed on the forms included to purchase a number of money orders, gift cards and $*** would be my pay. It sounded fishy but I figured I’d feel it out a bit and texted them that it had arrived. After that they started texting and calling non stop and instructing me to go buy the items and that the money is available. Little did they know I knew for sure it was not. Although I did deposit it at first I called my bank almost immediately and told them I think it may be a scam and to flag the check. Unfortunately because I deposited it my account is now in review but luckily I called almost right after, didn’t spend any of it and thank God I was tipped off before I actually did any of the “work” they wanted me to do. The “Group” is called Walmart Survey Groups, the main person goes by “James Larry West, MD” and the phone number is 281-323-8560. The cashiers check they sent looked incredibly legitimate, with the watermark the heat activated shield and everything, this is the only reason I felt semi-OK depositing it, so be careful. The only thing that caught my attention right away was how instantly eager they were for me to go and buy the products, as well as the paperwork looking slightly unofficial. Seriously thank goodness I didn’t fall for it worse than just depositing the check and didn’t spend anything that first day or at all or things could be a lot worse for me now. I hope they get what’s coming to them.

I received a legitimate looking packet in the mail today to be a Walmart mystery shopper. I saw a large check enclosed and had to think for a second, because I do fill out surveys and get paid for it occasionally. I have never received an amount this large and if I do get paid, it’s usually in gift card form. With some more investigating I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a SCAM!!! PLEASE DO NOT CASH a check similar to this one!!!

He then wanted to know how I paid for it. I told him credit card I gave him no details. He then tells me to go to my nearest Walmart and buy a $50 gift card. When I said no he then got nasty. I hung up on him.

at least 2 times weekly for the last 6 weeks I have gotten email notice of "my Walmart account was used to make an order " that could be picked up in 4 hours", OR ..."for a gift of $200" ..."if I did not make the order follow us (sic) immediately and click here to cancel..." oddly enough after many of these on and on I STILL do not have any Walmart account so I am just really not sure whose account they are talking about but it isn't mine, nor anyone else's I fear. please do not fall victim to this nonsensicle and ridiculous scam!
