It started with an email from a Brenda Carlson at Today's Nurse magazine. We set an appointment for a phone interview to discuss my nomination as one of the Top Nurses for 2025. We spoke about my education and career as a nurse. Then she proceeded to tell me about all the benefits that come with this program...discounts on products and services. Finally, she informed me how all of this would come with a "nominal fee" of between $500 and $900! And since I wouldn't do that, she said she could "sponsor" me for $89/month. I did some research and came up with this entry on ScamPulse. Then I received another email (as promised) about purchasing the Recognition Plaque for $189! Such a scam!

Todays nurse makes you think you are selected as an identified top nurse in the country and then talks you into paying them for either a diamond package or platinum package for discounts and the ability to network with other nurses. You write about yourself but then you are never featured. Plus you should not be paying someone to feature you if you truly are being selected for this.

- Lakeville, MA, USA

I had received an email stating my profile had been seen on LInkedin and I was nominated as a TOP Nurse and my profile would be in their magazine.

It said to arrange for a 5 minute phone call where they would make sure my information was correct so they could publish it. I arranged for a phone call.

see Hi ,

Your Today's Nurse with Brenda Carlson at 09:35am (Eastern Time - US & Canada) on Thursday, February 20, 2025 is scheduled.

Thank you for your submission regarding your Today's Nurse Feature. Please select a time so we can review all of the information we've learned about you before publishing.

Suspecting this might be fake on the morning of the 20th I let them know I was no longer interested and I received an email notice that the it was cancelled from: I thought that was the end of it but the next day I received a phone call from them from a woman who called herself ALLIE" She told me I was selected and asked me questions as to where I went to Nursing school. colleges I attended , places I has worked, why I became nurse, my military service, hobbies, and my family. Praising my accomplishments, Since most seemed harmless i answered them. She then said I would receive another email telling me how to get the process started and she said they needed my credit care number to get it "Edited and started" She said the cost would be 900 dollars to be included and a plaque would be sent to my house. I requested more info and she kept insisting for my credit card info and she could make a deal to bring the cost down to 700 dollars. I didn't give it to her as she persisted and finally I told her I am not interested in this and hung up.

My concern is that after I cancelled the call and said I wasn't interested they still called me the next day. Their website said NO costs.

Yet I would only be included if I gave my credit care number number and paid the 700-900 dollars. So this is deception and false marketing.

I am also concerned about the info i gave them being used for identity theft. Although i didn't give them my credit care number or financial info I did give them personal info about where i have worked -was educated etc. that could be used for identity theft. In a profile article these thing would be standard but they are not publishing it so what will it be used for.

Does an Allie or Brenda Carslon even work there? Why no physical address.? They claim to publish a magazine. WHAT IS https://www.health-pros.net/? This solicits money. So they seem to be a

scam. They should be off the internet at the very least and nurses warned of this.

Thank you for your help?
