Terry's Florist Reports & Reviews (97)

This company advertises themselves as a brick and mortar store. When I called to place an order in the DC area I specifically asked them, 'if they had a brick and mortar store in that area and if THEY were going to make and deliver my order.' I was told, 'yes.'

Then this morning I received a phone call from another florist telling me, 'they did not have what I ordered in stock and they gave me some cheap alternatives to fill my order. I ordered a specific blooming plant. I told this company to NOT fill the order that I needed to contact Terry's Florist to find out why they sent my order to a different florist when I was very specific in asking if they would be the ones filling the order.

I then placed a call to them, the same woman I talked with yesterday answered the phone. I told her of the phone call I received and that I was upset, she of course tried back pedaling. I told her they were deceiving the public and I wanted my order cancelled and an immediate refund. She agreed to do so.

Well, here it is 2 hours later and still no refund. Yesterday when I placed the order, she immediately charged my credit card. Something tells me I am now going to have to contact my CC company and ask them to take the charge off our account due to fraud.

THIS PLACE IS A FRAUD/SCAM...DO NOT USE! REPORT TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IMMEDIATELY.

I ordered a bouquet for my dad advertised as $49.99. My debit card was charged $80.18. The bouquet was half the size of the one advertised. I asked for a refund of half of the charge but they just gave me the run-around. They are not honest and should be put out of business.

My aunt ordered flowers for me. She lives out of town and searched for florists in my area. Terry's Florist was at the top of the search. I'm not sure if she ordered on-line or called them. They took my address and her credit card info and confirmed delivery. Flowers never arrived. She spoke with someone who said they had an issue with the supplier so the flowers were never delivered. They never contacted my aunt to make her aware. My aunt requested a full refund. (Too soon to see if this happens). After hearing what happened, I called to request a delivery and asked where they were located, as the website doesn't give a location. Customer service rep (CSR) said they needed my address and that they'd use one of their shops in my area. When I said I am not familiar with a Terry's florist in this area and wanted to know the address in town the CSR claimed she didn't know the address as that business had just moved. The CSR also did not know the previous address. The CSR asked, in a rude tone, if we were going to discuss addresses as her first priority was the purchase of flowers. She hung up on me soon after.

Horrible experience. Hidden charges. Emailed pics of Total and asked to cancel order when I saw the confirmation email with higher charges. They wouldn't let me cancel nor would they refund the hidden charges. Stay away!

I wanted to send flowers as follow up after a first date, and Terry's Florist showed up as a local listing in my very-specific search area. I was surprised because she lives in a small town and I had never heard of this florist, and I knew that there were no florists in that town and most of the ones in neighboring communities don't deliver there (it's 12-15 miles away). But their website said they would deliver the same day if the order's placed by 2:00 pm, and all the others had a much earlier cutoff.

So I called first to verify that they had a physical presence in the community and could deliver the same day to her. A real person assured me by phone that it would be no problem because they have local florists and delivery people in that town. So I placed my order.

A few hours later I got a call. There was a problem with the "delivery trucks" and my delivery wasn't going to be possible until Tuesday (this was Saturday, date was Friday night). Also, they weren't sure they would have the right flowers on board so might have to "substitute." I said no, it HAS to arrive today or tomorrow, and I ordered exactly what I wanted delivered. Waiting 'til next week defeats the purpose (I was going to see her again Monday night, so it had to arrive before then). After reminding them that I checked first and was assured it COULD be delivered today and was not a problem at all BEFORE placing the order, they told me the earliest they could deliver was Tuesday of the next week. I told them if they couldn't deliver what I ordered by the next day, I expected a full refund promptly because I had to find someplace else that could.

Of course, the problem is that they called me at 15 minutes 'til noon, and all of the other local florists' cutoff times were at noon (and didn't have Sunday or Monday deliveries). I could have had a local florist deliver if I hadn't used Terry's, but they lied to get my money with no intent or ability to actually deliver.

If that refund's not here within the 3-4 business days they promised, I will have my bank reverse the charge and file a complaint with the BBB and FCC.

I've talked to 5 other florists in the area since trying to find one that can, and none of them have reported any supply or delivery issues (and they all use the same services).

I searched google for a florist in my hometown, and for whatever reason (google ads, website rankings, etc) Terry's Florist showed up in my local listings. I went to their website and ordered my wife a flower arrangement to be delivered to the doctors office she works at. As the day progressed and closing time was nearing, I called Terry's Florist to check the delivery status of my order. The person who answered the phone said they were on the delivery vehicle but could not give a time for delivery. Understandable. Eventually I had to call my wife and ask her if she had received anything from me today. She said no, so I explained that I had ordered her flowers but they were not going to arrive before she left. She asked her coworkers to call her if they showed up. This was at 5pm. The office was to close for the night at 7pm, and at 6:30 I emailed the service email address asking where the flowers were. I was sent a response that looked as through it came from a order system as my wife's name and some other info I filled in was in all caps, where the rest of the email was lowercase, correct formatting. It indicated the flowers were delivered to my wife. This was obviously not the case as my wife had not received any flowers. I physically drove to my wife's work, went inside and spoke to the receptionist who searched the office (which is not big) for the flowers. Nothing there. I emailed customer service, and they now will not respond. When I got home, I searched for Florist in my hometown, and now the listing wasn't showing which made me realize that it was likely a Google ad. I searched for reviews for Terrys Florist, and saw that the majority of people ordering and leaving reviews had the same experience, or did receive flowers but got an arrangement that was not of close quality or similarity to what they ordered. In my case, we just never received the flowers.

Thanks for making what was going to be a great surprise to my wife and poor experience.

This company is HORRIBLE! I agree with the other reviews, this company is a scam and should not be in business. I ordered flowers for mother for Mother's Day on 5/3 for delivery on 5/7. I live in the East coast and my Mother lives on the West coast so I'm not able to see her as often as I like and of course, haven't seen her at all since the pandemic. Nonetheless, I ordered a premium bouquet and I chose a flower shop that was in the same city as my mother so I could be sure the flowers would be fresh. Somehow, it went to Terry's Florist - NOT THE FLOWER SHOP I THOUGHT I WAS ORDERING FROM. I called my Mother on Mother's Day and asked her if she received the flowers, and she said No she thought I had forgot. I immediately called Terry's Florist, they put me on hold for about 5 minutes and came back and said they couldn't reach the driver, but they would call me back. I asked them if there were located in the city my Mother lives in and they lied and said yes they have a shop there. They didn't call me back. I called on Monday - same story - "couldn't get ahold of the driver they'd call me back. They didn't. I called them yesterday and they again put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back and said they couldn't reach the driver again, but they can confirm the flowers had left the shop. I asked her call me back and confirm that they got delivered. She finally called late last night and informed me that they were going to refund my card because the flowers weren't delivered. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible customer service - no apologies - nothing!

The first picture is what I ordered.
The second picture is what they sent. $73.00 for this. Completely unprofessional in every way. NO REFUNDS! Read other's reviews. Same story again and again. Some people never even got the flowers they paid for.

SCAM COMPANY

I ordered flowers for my bosses wife for Mother's day. I was guaranteed the flowers would be delivered on Saturday, May 8th. I literally spend an hour on the phone ordering the flowers so that there would be no mistake. I was also told they were a local flower shop. ALL LIES. My CC was charge the day I placed the order. I received an email receipt that did NOT have a confirmation number. The flowers never arrived. I called and was told the standard company line. Sorry due to high demand we can't deliver your flowers. Then I was hung up on. I called back and canceled the order. I also sent an email. I received an email response that said:

Unfortunately due to an issue with our vendor, we were unable to fulfill your order. We did not process any billing for the said order therefore no refund will be processed

Only Problem was my CC was charged the day I placed the order. I filled a fraud claim with my CC company. There needs to be a way to contact google so they take down their website as it is a complete SCAM

I was also scammed by so called Terry’s
Florist. It was advertises as a florist in River forest. I wanted my delivery to be by 10 the next morning. Dave said it would be between 11-7. I asked to receive a text when my order was delivered. I did not get any notice. I ordered a dish garden plant with fresh flowers & a bow for my friends b/d. Dave said he could deliver that request. My friend sent me a photo @ my request when she let me know she received this. I was very embarrassed. There were no flowers & no bow. It was left on door step without any usual paper or plastic to protect it. I have called, sent photo of plant & too many emails & I keep getting the same run around. We filled your order to OUR satisfaction & our SUBSTITuON POLICY. There is no substitution issue here.
I asked for owner & manager & neither could be located. This has been thee worst customer service I have ever received. They just want your credit card & do not care if u r happy with purchase.
I hope u do not waste your hard earned $ for Mother’s Day or any day with this SCAMMER!

Placed a order this morning for a funeral. Took my order and payment information. Let her know we are a church and we are tax exempt. I got my confirmation email and seen 15.00 in tax for a 60.00 plant. Called back to ask about it and they could not find my order. Placed me on hold for 20 minutes. I ended up calling back and got a different person. By this time I wanted to cancel and find a different florist, she found my order but acted like she did not want to cancel. Did not see all the other complaints pryor to placing my order but will never call this place again.

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! just like every other reviews on her I too had the same issue, was told would be next day delivery. Well I didn't get a call/text until the next day stating that my ordered wouldn't be delivered until the next day.. I stated it was already next day and should have been delivered, so now I have to wait an extra day on top of that they told me they didn't have the "roses" for the bouquet and if they could use tulips I said that's fine as kind as it was beautiful! The bouquet I ordered vs what was received was ABSOLUTELY nothing like it. When I reach out to the person from the shop I had been in communication with through text to voice how unhappy and dissatisfied I was with my bouquet. I got no reply, no apology no let me make this right or how can I make this right. They just didn't reply. Very unprofessional. I don't know how this place is still in business! The pictures speak for themselves! What I ordered vs what I got.

This place should be taken down. Obviously a scam. I ordered something and they just called me to say they couldn't deliver it because of "high demand". It was an Asian accent on the phone (from China I believe), so this is probably a Chinese company trying to scam people on the phone. I told the woman I wanted to cancel my order since it obviously can't be delivered for Easter, and that I was going to report them for making it seem like they were a local florist by their deceptive ads. Don't order from here, it's not a local florist. Now I know. Fortunately I don't see any charges on my credit card!

I have been scammed by this company.
I have ordered the deluxe all my love bouquet for my mother on the mothers day occasion and what she received was nothing what I ordered and there was barely any flowers in there and they weren't fresh either as if the flowers were bought from a Walmart and delivered. Even the vase was incredibly cheap and nothing as what I ordered.
I have contact them and ask for a refund or a complete new proper delivery and what I received was a rude reply with a promise of only partial refund which I never received. My overall experience is disappointing and it was a very bad experience and such a scam untruth, and shameful company. PLS DON'T ORDER FROM THEM. THEY ARE SCAMMERS!

Their website says they will deliver the same day if ordered by 2pm. This is not true. They immediately called me to tell me it wouldn't go out until the next morning. They specifically said it would go out first thing the next day. At 11am the next day I called and was told it was on the truck and would be delivered soon. At 3pm I called and was repeatedly hung up on. I finally got through and was told the driver personally guaranteed delivery by 4pm. I called after 4pm to cancel the order and they refused. They said that the flowers had not come back undelivered so they couldn't issue a refund. The flowers were delivered after I tried to cancel the order (and I was lied to about the delivery time). The flowers delivered did not look anything like the arrangement I paid for. They said they would not refund more than the $14.99 service fee because they are allowed to make substitutions. Their websites states that substitutions can be made to ensure prompt delivery and they will be of equal or greater value. The bouquet was of lesser quality and they were not delivered promptly. They lied multiple times and did not deliver what was paid for.

February 18, 2021 - On Tuesday morning this week I ordered a $185 bouquet from Terry's Florists to be delivered for a good friend's celebratory birthday. The woman who took my order was careful and confirmed the order. My credit card was charged. After the order was placed she called me back almost immediately telling me it would cost $40 than she quoted me. OK, it was Valentine's week, I get that. But here's the problem...the flowers weren't delivered to my friend at all. Since I hadn't heard from my friend, I called her and she confirmed she hadn't received flowers from me. I called Terry's Florist this morning. They put me on lengthy holds multiple times; they directed me to the manager and it went to voice mail; they assured me a manager would call me back. He didn't. After my fourth call, I was told they would have to check with the driver. They learned that the driver confronted icy conditions and didn't deliver the flowers on the birthday. No one informed me or my friend. No apology was offered, no offer to deliver today, no effort to fix the situation. They begrudgingly said they would refund my $185 but I have yet to see confirmation. I highly recommend you look for any other florist before making a telephone order with Terry's Florists. -- Sally Bagshaw, Seattle WA

Advertised as local florist. They are not. In my case, never delivered the order and never returned the call
