I couldn't connect my Echo to the internet. I thought I was going through Amazon but wound up at . I on-line chatted with Nadia first, who had Hardy call me. I allowed Hardy to access my computer and was told I needed Internet Security because I had no firewall and Alexa wouldn't work without it. I stupidly agreed and bought a 5-year service contract for $319.99. On the plus side, whatever was done did get Echo to work but the whole high-pressure scenario seemed wonky so I checked the internet and found multiple reports/complaints. I tried to cancel with Techsist Web Solutions at 888-377-3099 within an hour and spoke with a particularly unpleasant man, Alex, in billing who refused to reverse the full charge and wound up saying "Do you know how many calls we get from the Better Business Bureau?".

I received an email which purportedly confirmed delivery the following day of an $1845 TV from Amazon to someone else's address in Florida (I live in Canada). I used the telephone number provided for contacting "Amazon" to inquire about or cancel this order. On calling, I was lead through a series of steps providing false information about the state of my computer and firewall protection, which they told me required emergency repairs. Repeatedly telling me they (two different people) worked for Amazon and that they were "helping me out" I was persuaded to purchase firewall software. However, my skepticism rose throughout and I eventually stopped the installation and demanded a refund, which they provided within two hours. So I did not lose money, but I was almost talked into spending on something I did not need to solve a problem I later determined I did not have, and they did so through a fraudulent phishing email masquerading as Amazon. I contacted Amazon security who confirmed they had no relationship with this company and asked me to send a copy of the email.

I was having a problem connecting a wifi device up and I was checking out different web pages for information on hooking it up. Then a pop up appeared and asked if I needed help and I replied yes. They asked what the problem was I explained what my problem was and so I got passed to a technition who put up on my deck top a page and I was to give permission for them to look at it and si I did. The next moment I was looking at my screen that they were showing me a bunch of hacerse tracks along with a trojan and some por site that I have never been to. So they say we can fix everything and proceeded to show me all their different plans which at the time was a $ 799.00 cheapest plan. I said that I was retired and couldn't afford it and he told me to hang on and in a minute came back with a $ 249.00 dollar plan and I agree. Then they do a bunch of stuff and say its all fixed now. Well when I went out to check the wifi it was on and working but It wasn't strong enough to get onti the net. So I went back to them and said I want to cancel my order with them because the device does not work good enough to use and I'm going to send it back. Well they say they can't cancel it but they will send me back $ 100.00. Then before they can send me my return I would have to send them $ 150.00 with a different card and they would cancel the original payment. I will not be sending them anymore money unless they send me proof of the original order being canceled. Thank you for your attention to this matter. One other note is that they signed my name to the receipt and they put the last dígits of my Credit card number in the square at the bottom of the receipt. I think that's called fraud..James Furniss

On 6-10-21 Websist Web Solutions charged me for a lifetime network firewall security and support for my Arlo devices. I had gone to Arlo site and a popup window with Arlo logo appear and requested my phone number. I received a call from Buffalo. The foreign accent should have been my first clue. The tech installed some software on my PC and then when a second tech tried to sell me Arlo services, I immediately requested to cancel the service. The tech insisted that it couldn't be done, then charged my credit card. Per the Techsist agreement, I requested a cancellation and refund during the initial call and again after 6pm EDT. Billing Team was the same tech I had spoken to earlier during my first call further arousing my suspicions. Despite the agreement saying refunds would be made in 7-10 business days, he insisted it would take 6 months or more. The website: www.techsistsolution.com has a trojan if you attempt to connect to it. The tech asked me to docusign the agreement; however, they had already docusigned it before they emailed it to me.

I feel so foolish for getting scammed by this company. I was having trouble with my Netgear extender. It had stopped working and I couldn't figure out what the issue was so I called the 800 help number provided by the manufacturer. It connected me to this company. I thought I was talking to Netgear and then they said they needed to access my computer and I let them. They told me that I had no firewall and said that they could detect multiple IP addresses hacking my computer which is what basically shut down the Netgear device from accessing my network. They sold me a firewall plan for $500 and I can't believe I fell for it. I had a Norton suite installed on my computer and they told me to delete - that I didn't need it anymore. They told me to call back every three months - I think it was for some kind of tune up. After really thinking about this I realized that I was taken advantage of. This is so wrong of Netgear to advertise this company. I will never buy anything from them again.
