Someone claiming to be from T-Mobile called me. Offering 40% off my bill for 2 years. They just needed me to verify the account pin. I told them I didn't have it, so they sent me a link from T-Mobile to change my password. I knew it was a scam so I called 611 and made a report.

Scammer was at a call center, I could hear other scammers in the background. The person that called me was a male, mid aged, had an accent from India. Called from a number that showed up on my caller ID as Portland, OR.

This is the text I received. When we called T-Mobile, they informed us they did NOT have Internet service at my address, yet they claimed Verizon handled their Internet. When we called immediately to the number in the text, they supposedly had no slots left for this promotion. The next morning, we received a Verizon box which they tried to charge us for. They also offered a $100 gift card which I have not received.

"** ****, this is Lance, with Home Service Bundles, an authorized T-Mobile retailer. I just called and left you a voicemail to help you finish signing up for 5G Home Internet. Tower space is limited, and the offer expires soon so call me at 1-833-604-1970 in the next 10 minutes to make sure you get the $100 gift card and a 15-day free trial!"

The person called me stating that I order 2 I-Phone 16 Pros to a Fred Johnson in Houston, Texas and that my account was red flagged. They were calling to verify the purchase and asked did anyone have access to my account? I stated the manager at T-Mobile in Eastpointe on Kelly Road. They wanted me to stay on the phone while they canceled the order. I said no I won’t , just cancel the order and they hung up on me. I immediately called T-Mobile and complained to them that they have been careless with my information and now I’m contacting you

I received a call from what I thought was the T-Mobile phone company. T-Mobile appeared in my caller Id. So, I answered. The agent identified himself with name and agent Id number. He stated that he flagged fraud activity on my account. He stated a S15 5g phone was being purchased and wanted to verify if I was actually making this purchase. All very professional. The agent needed to verify if I was the account holder. He texted me a code in a link and I opened the link and read back the code. He asked my date of birth, and my social security number which I did not provide. I hung up. I called T-Mobile myself. And there were no notations about a fraud threat! But!! It was enough information for them to lock me out of my phone, canceled my cell service (phone number was ported out) and canceled my email account. Then 3 checking accounts were drained by using a paypal account they set up. And also, using Zelle to send money to another person. The Banks are working to recover the money! I did recover the email address. I had to use a temporary number until they recovered my phone number. Its a huge inconvenience. The scammers have risen to a whole new level of sophistication. Just beware!!!!! Stay alert!!!!!
