Suspicious Lead Sales Effort Reports & Reviews (1)

- Steamboat Springs, CO, USA

I was first contacted by [email protected] offering a list of 8000 leads that supposedly were resulting from our local Winter Carnival that at the time was about to take place in a couple of weeks (it just happened last weekend). I asked for more information, i.e. are the leads B2B or individuals and how much were they asking for the list. I was referred to Chris Taylor at Linkbiss.llc who sent an email answering my questions and gave the price as $279. I thought that was extremely cheap for a list of 8,000 names and said I would buy it, however I would not have the funds until the Friday previous to the event. Chris sent me a digital invoice that I was invited to pay online. The language he used did not seem like normal American English so my scam-o-meter spidey sense went off and I began digging. I went to the website "Linkbiss.llc" and saw that it was copyrighted just this year, 2025. I called the phone number twice and got no answer, not even a robotic phone answerer or an invitation to leave a voicemail. The number just picked up and there was silence on the other end of the line. I looked up the address on the website on Google Maps and Google Earth and saw no such business listed at that address. I looked up the website on Whois and saw that It had a phone number with an EEUU prefix (+3) in the raw data. All of the rest of the information was privacy protected so I was unable to see if the website owner was even in North America. I did see the company protecting the information, "Perfect Privacy", was in MA. The company "Linkbiss" purports to help people grow their business and yet they do not even answer their phones or have themselves properly listed in the ScamPulse.com directory or Google My Business. They want me to enter my credit card information into an invoice and I don't know how that information will be treated after I pay the money they want to charge me or even if they will send me a legitimate list of names. I'm glad I researched and I wanted to protect other businesses from getting scammed because in the beginning I was fooled.
