I got an alert on my computer one afternoon and it told me to contact my support group, which I had previously found through the Microsoft Help Desk. I have paid for a five year support. I did so and talked with the technician that first worked with me to get my support. He told me there was a way to get a lifetime support plan and I would not have any more trouble. (I am not an expert on computers, but I know the basics in using them.) He was very convincing in what he was saying, which was to buy some gift cards, so he could complete the needed processes and then a check would reimburse me. I don’t know why this did not flash a warning to me, but my brain must have been taking a vacation that day. I have a paper copy of the check they were to send me as well as a refund statement from Microsoft Professional Support Help Desk.

After I did not receive the check, I contacted the support group. The phone number that I had been given for a technician was no longer letting my call go through. I had another number and I called it. Of course, they said they had no record, so I said I would email the papers that I had. The email address that they gave me did not work. He was going to investigate, but of course it never happened. I guess that everyone that I talked to during this two week period was in on the scam. I now wonder if I even have the support that I first paid to receive.

If I was in the practice of banking on line, I probably would have been out a larger amount.
