Social Security office Reports & Reviews (236)

- Louisville, KY, USA

At first in was an automated recording saying it was the social security office and that they were revoking my social security number and to press one. When the person came on I asked to speak with a supervisor and he asked for my full name. I told him no and he said “excuse me, you can’t talk to a federal officer of the law like that.” I told him he didn’t need my name for me to talk to a supervisor and he said “Fine I will send a state police officer to arrest you.” And hung up.

I just received a phone call from 425-320-5917 seen as Everett, WA on my cell phone. It was a recorded voice telling me that my Social Security number has been suspended and that if I don't call back they will issue a warrant for my arrest. I did NOT call back, but reported it to ScamPulse.com and received a confirmation email that this is a scam. "No one from Social Security or any other government entity would call and tell you your Social Security Number has been suspended and or tell you a warrant for your arrest has been issued."

The email from ScamPulse.com requested I post this here on the ScamPulse.com Scam Tracker page. Thank you for helping people to avoid this scam and hopefully stop this scammer.

They left a voicemail saying there was something wrong with my social security and legal action would be taken if I didn't call back. I called back and got this woman. I called back 4 or 5 times to see if I would get someone different person but I kept getting the same lady. I did not get a name from the lady but she kept asking for my full name, social security number and that is when I asked her what this was concerning and she hung up.

- Tyler, TX, USA

Scammers will call saying they are with Social Security Administration and this message is intended to contact you regarding fraudulent activities under your social security number. The scammers says an enforcement action executed by the US higher authorities stating that your SSN is going to be blocked intending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearance before magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense.

Social Security Administration will not call, they will mail letters regarding any important information.

Wanting last 4 digits of my social security number. Said 2 persons were using my name They had found a abandoned car at Mexico’s border that was rented in my name. The car tag number DX7334 571 Columbia, El Paso, Texas He knew my name and zip code he gave me a case ID number and his employee number. Then put me through to his senior drug department enforcement Officer located in El Paso and he was investigating There names were Donald Jefferson and Kyle Williamson His phone number was 859-479-1778. He wanted my name I did not give it to him. I told him I would give him my case number so I did and he did not know my name. I told him they were scammers and he hung up.

I Received a call stating that my Social Security # has been compromised. Please call (206) 939-5864 . This is the message left on my answering machine. I did not and Do Not plan on calling them back.

I received a voice mail from 1-844-714-8183 with the following message... "So when you get this message kindly revert as soon as possible on our number that is 844-714-8183. I repeat 844-714-8183 before we begin with the legal proceedings thank you and have a nice day..." A screenshot of this is attached to this email.

I called the number - a gentleman with a thick accent said he was from the Social Security Administration Office and needed to verify my first name, last name and my SSN.

I knew this was a hoax so I continued, out of curiosity, with the conversation which lasted about 10 minutes by continually giving him false information. I told him my name was Hamar Alfuju and my SSN was 844-71-8183 - which is the phone number I received the message from. He acted like he was typing my information into his computer and was able to see all of it. He kept asking me to verify my SSN and asked what state issued that number. I kept up with my false information by repeating that same SSN and said it was issued in Connecticut.

He said that he had a 35 page document charging me with money laundering and drug trafficking with a warrant out for my arrest - but not to worry he would help me by getting me a new SSN because it looked liked like I was a victim of identity theft according to my records that he was able to see on his computer screen.

He wanted to know my date of birth, what state I lived in, if I was single - married - or dating, did I work or was I retired, what my job title was and what company I worked for. He wanted to know what time I got off work because he liked the sound of my voice and wanted to call me whenever he "missed me"... I kept asking about the 35 page document - asked how I could receive it. He repeatedly told me not to worry that he would take care of it - that it wasn't my fault and I wasn't in trouble. He said that he would contact the SS Admin Office in the town I lived in to set up an appointment for me to meet with them so I could receive a new SSN. He kept changing the conversation to make it more personal by insisting on calling me "after hours" because he thought I was hot and I didn't sound like the "62 year" old I was portraying.

I asked him how many other people received the phone message to call this office because I could hear several other Arabic men in the background saying and asking the same questions he was asking me.

I continued to keep the conversation on track regarding the 35 page document - how I could go to the SS Admin Office in my city without his assistance - and how I did not want to speak with him after work hours. He became extremely frustrated with me and hung up.

This was the creepiest conversation I have ever had in my life!!! The sad thing is there are people that actually believe everything these scam artists tell them and wind up giving their information to these ***!!!

Recording called and said it was from Social Security and said I would get arrested if I didn't press 1.

The callers called me numerous times using telephone numbers 800-735-8406 & 800-703-8968. It's an automated machine that states there are suspicious activity involving your social security. If we don't hear from you, then we will freeze your social security benefits and all social security benefits including medicare. Please press 1 to speak to an agent. I did not press any given option and hung up. But they keep calling back and urging me to press a number to speak to an agent.

- York, SC, USA

Call saying my social security number had been comprised and they were going to put a hold on the number. You could hear that they were in a call center and the person had a thick Indian accent and I couldn't catch their name. When you call the number back it says it is available for lease, and when you look it up on Google it is an espresso coffee shop in California.

I did call the given number back but did not want to give them my name. When I refused they hung up. SoI don't know if they would have asked for money or not.
