Hi. I too received that kind of call and we contracted from them basing from the email they send to us the Proforma invoice. Smart Smo is not a scam. It's a legit company that works more than you expected. All employees there are good. I believe you misunderstand them because why are they still on the business for years if this is a scam right?

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Got a call one day from Smart SMO asking to verify some company details for their listing, which included our current address, phone number and President's name. The caller also asked for my name after I verified the information she provided was correct and current. That was the end of the call. Absolutely no discussion about their services or whether or not we'd be interested in working with them. About a month later, I got a voicemail from a guy claiming that they were going to commence services for us based on the call I had with his associate the month prior. He also stated that as a reminder they record all calls for accuracy and that it would be easiest if he had his team mail us out an invoice and that services would commence once payment was received. I did not bother to call back as I did not order, nor did I have authority to order any vendor services. About a month later, sure enough, Accounts Payable came to me with a letter that had my name on it. It listed a site to login and gain access to an audit report www.smartsmoreports.com and saying that "service will comment when payment has been received and will continue in assigned billing segments unless otherwise notified." I forwarded this to our existing and contracted provider for such services who warned me of phishing scams that go as far as to send fake invoices to companies hoping they blindly pay them. Two weeks later my AP department tells me that a woman named Julie has been calling asking them to remit payment for their services. She requested a copy of the invoice and they faxed over a Pro Forma Invoice, again with my name on it, for $1,258.00 for Online Monthly Service Google Network Optimization Incorporating Social Tabulation Synchronous Software Tracking. Pro Forma Invoice listed Fed ID # 859811275 I informed AP that this is an attempted scam, that they were not giving any authorization, nor have they performed any work for us. They have been flagged as a Malicious caller for all in both Accounting and Customer Service should they continue to attempt to get any money out of us. Taking the time to post this as it took a while for me to find reviews with this scam attempt and I would like as many others as possible to be warned with details of the attempt.
