Spam email sent to my corporate work email, and corporate Microsoft Defender account flagged the email as suspicious. I can only preview the subject and sender email in the quarantine page, but I saw "invoice" in the subject line and wanted to confirm I did not miss an invoice from a new vendor, and googled the business name. The top google search result confirmed it was a scam/phishing email. I almost second guessed the spam filter because it came from what looks like the official [email protected] email address.

I received two emails (about 3 hours apart) from [email protected] stating that Polomino Bazaar LLc was sending me an invoice for $1,037.38 USD. The invoice provides a phone number (888-329-9080) to call if the transaction is unrecognized. Invoice number 0028. The email also provided links to "Report this invoice" and "Learn more" about common security threats and how to spot them. The email suggests, "Buy now. Pay over time." Select PayPal Credit at checkout to enjoy No Interest if paid in full in 6 months. Subject to credit approval. Link to "See terms." US customers only. At the bottom of the email there were more links to "Learn to identify phishing", "Help & Contact." and "Learn more". Copyright 1999-2025 PayPal, Inc. All rights reserved.
