To access the federal grants database a non-profit must stay registered with SAM.GOV. I received an emailing phishing for me to renew, but through this scan site. I learned later SAM.GOV is always free for renewal. So I followed the directions in the email to renew our registration with the federal government grants database and i was prompted to send a check for one year renewal for $499. I did pay this and learned from a board member later this was a scam. I registered the payment to a fraudulent business with Wells Fargo, our bank, but they wrote back that its the responsibility of me to get a refund.
