Message left but 1st couple words did not record. I was told if I did not (could not hear) I would be taken in custody by the local police & arrested. I should call this number (above number) immediately or be taken into custody. #786-220-4869. Caller ID said Miami, Fl.

I answered my phone from 3036676767. A recording saying a need to respond to this credit card final notice. It didnt say a name of the credit card. A live person came on greeting me. I asked to be taken off their call list. He said," [censored] you, you [censored]ing bitch." I called the number back and it doesn't receive calls.

Not sure what the offer was. It was a robo-voice message and did not use correct English grammar. It did not wait for the voicemail message so I don't know how it started, but it said "and once you get expired you will be taken into custody by the local cops." and so forth.

Person called pretending to be the Iternal Revenue Service, left a message that I am being sued for tax evasion. I called back and of course it wasn't the office of IRS, and I told him I pay my taxes every year and if I was being sued I am sure the IRS would have contacted me. Then he changed story to say they owed me money. I said let me guess you want my social security number? Very shady, very misrepresenting.I am not dumb enough to fall for it, but I am sure some people would.

So far I have received messages from three different phone numbers claiming that I need contact them or risk being arrested. Basically the same as this https://www.actionnewsjax.com/news/local/scam-call-threatens-you-will-be-taken-u...

This company calls my business incessantly demanding that I pay several hundred dollars for some online directory that I never ordered and have no interest in. They call, demand immediate payment, threaten me with collections, yet they cannot simply supply a contract or the directory, or proof that I requested it or anything! Won't provide their "business" address and when you call the number back you can never reach a person

Said to call back asap or a warrant for my arrest would go out to Federal US Government re: the IRS. That they found this in their data base. The one number is disconnected, the lady answered when I ask what this buisness this was she hung up and would not answer on 2 more calls I made.

She said her name was Lisa from the 'warranty department'. She had been trying to reach me for some time because the warranty on my vehicle was about to expire & we needed to start paperwork & payment for an extension. I asked her how my warranty was expiring because my vehicle is brand new with only 17,500 miles on it and it came with a 100,000 mile warranty. She started stuttering & stammering & the abruptly hung up.

Got a recorded phone call threatening to serve papers and to contact employer. Wife is retired so we know this is some sort of scam. We did not answer the call so we do not know what the serving is all about. We have gotten this call about three times to date. The call comes from a 1-877-777-7777 phone number. We checked the scammer did not attempt to take money but we do not know if that was their intention because we did not answer the call!

I was scammed today by someone who asked, "Can you hear me." Without thinking I responded yes and immediately realized what I had done.

I gave them no other info. They hung up before I had a chance to.

I answered twice & they say their(?) name & ask the same thing: "Can you hear me ?" - getting you to say YES & then saying you signed up & get billed for ~whatever~ ! I said -0- & hung up right then.

Exactly as what Tom Bartholomy said about this Scam on News 14. I think these seven "228" prefix #'s I listed are from the ~same~ place / co.

Please note, I called this # 1st, on accident. I intended to call Anthem Cross Blue Shield HIP, but misdialed by 1 digit. The phone #s on the insurance card are hard to read even with a magnifying glass - so I dialed 6 where I should have dialed an 8 (when shrunk down, very easy to mistake). When the phone picked up, it started:

"Please listen carefully, for our options may have changed." and "Calls are recorded for quality assurance." -

followed by an audible "beep". It asked if I or a household member was 50 or over and switched to a message saying that I was eligible for a free personal medical alert system. When I declined to hear more. it switched to an offer for Direct TV. I declined and it switched to an offer for T Mobile, then something else, then a sweepstakes entry line. At that point I hung up. I believe the only info I gave them was that - yes, someone in my household was 50 or older. At first, it didn't seem unreasonable that a HIP medical plan would notify me of a good medical equipment, so I thought it could be legit. But, when they offered the other stuff, I realized that I reached a scam or multi party sales call center (I'm not sure what the difference is anyway) that was smart enough to realize that a lot of people would be misdialing the Anthem BCBS #. How clever; Anthem could eventually receive blame by for any resulting disappointed, mislead, possibly SCAMMED, customers. Can you do something about this?

I wonder if I had said "yes" to the first deal, what I would have received, if anything, and would it really be free. It makes me so mad.

Further, out of angry curiosity, I called this # several more times. I got the same offer, and would hang up. About the 4th or 5th time, the message changed.. It started by asking if I was born in 1920 (?!) or later. I paused and may have answered yes, maybe no. It asked "Is this your 1st call?' and then "If this is your second attempt, you will be blocked from calling our system." -I stopped at that.

This happened this morning Monday 05/22/17.

I also tried plugging 866-406-6131 into the peoplebyname website. I wasn't willing to pay for complete info, but they showed me a map with Dearing, Coffeyville, Niotaze, Havanna, Caney, HWY 166, and HWY 75 on it. It could have been a generic map for nonpaying customers, maybe. Another website told me this was an area in Kansas.

Boy, If they can be found and contacted, I would really love to hear they're explanation. (Even if it is disappointing B.S. claiming "We did nothing wrong and are a legitimate business providing valuable services, which are, sometimes miscomprehended blah, blah, blah....)

But really, this is, at best, misleading, opportunistic, and targeted. I really thought I reached Anthem- a company I already had an established relationship with - when the whole shpeel began- and I would have trusted them with things that I would not trust to an unknown telemarketer. No matter how cleverly done.. Shameful.

Fishing for personal financial information. Called saying that they could give me a low APR interest rate of 6%. They asked for credit card number, expiration, and security code. When I asked them to identify what specific bank card they were calling about, they hung up.

One of those: "Can you hear me?" scams. They said they were from the SSN office. Unfortunately, my wife said "Yes" and the caller hung up. Going to watch our charges on all accounts. Any advice would be helpful.
