I am a professional who access building information from local county assessors often. County's do not charge for this information typically. If I type, in this case Larimer County Assessor, I am swarmed with websites that offer the same information for money, like PublicRecords.info. How can this be allowed? I am surprised I fell for this one, but it was late at night. They charged me only 8 dollars for the information back in November 2025. I as unaware that they charged me 20 dollars every month until I took notice this month. When I contacted them via the billing email I received ([email protected]) and threatened to report them, they refunded all my money directly back to my account. Now I worry what information they have, how I can get it back and who else they have done this to.

When looking up records on PublicRecords.info they Charge you multiple times without you authorizing each fee they first charged $5, Then $7 Then $8 until my bank caught it, they stopped one of the payments from being taken out. I called and they said they can't find my account without my debit card information, I also chatted with someone online who found my info and said that they always charge that way and they would close my account and refund me $5. Do not use this website

I web-searched "what's the square footage of my house" and the first link (that was not an ad) was the one I clicked. (publicrecords.info) The charge was one dollar to see the public record online. I paid that and looked at the record. Then 10 days later, there was a bogus charge of $30 from the same "company" which I contested. My credit union investigated and finally returned the money to my account.

Started my search for how much I was paying in property taxes. Did a general search engine search for the information. Came across www.publicrecords.info website. Website looks similar to CA state website.

I entered information to identify my property, saw initial results, and decided I wanted a copy of the information. I proceeded to follow steps to acquire the document. As part of trying to acquire the document, I was informed it was going to cost $1.00. I provided my debit card information and received document via email from [email protected] with a PDF to download.

This was the last correspondence I had until I saw an alert from my bank on a charge for $28.95 from PublicRecords.info and if it was valid.

The only valid charge was the $1.00. I NEVER AUTHORIZED $28.95. I NEVER KNOWINGLY CREATED A MEMBERSHIP. I WAS NEVER INFORMED AT ANYTIME THAT I WAS GOING TO BE CHARGED $28.95.

I refused it. My bank then cancelled my debit card requiring that I replace it on all of my bills where I have set up auto debit. I am also now without a debit card since my bank now has to send one.

I've reached out to 'Andy' and complained. They 'refunded' my $1.00 and said they CLOSED THE ACCOUNT I NEVER OPENED.

I'm acquired records from the official city website before - namely building permit information and building permits. There is traditionally a fee.

This company has created a website that looks like the official city website and does not indicate that a membership is being created, nor do they ever disclose a payment of $28.95.

THIS IS FRAUDULENT.

I tried to find some information and when I started on this site they charged me before I agreed to it. They have been saying they will refund and I have been waiting over a month and still do not have my money back.

It looked like a legitimate site to get death records from. I gave them my uncle's information and my financial information for payment.

They were given my name and credit card information to pay for the report. The charge was suppose to be $1.00 But they charged me $28.95. The charged showed up on my statement as uscrimedata
