PSEG called me saying that my account will be disconnected i was on my way to work and stopped at a gas station to get water and there was a machine inside that said pay pseg here i asked the person working there if this is accurate , he put the manager on the phone and the manager walked me through it step by step on how to pay . i paid cash 2500 dollars and he said I'm all set and then i left. I called pseg as soon as i got to work they told me they didn't receive the payment so i went back to the gas station and grabbed the phone number of the machine and when i called a guy picked up and started cussing at me and told me that im being scammed and i asked the worker for the manager and they would not let me contact him

Received a call saying it was from PSE&G telling me that they had not received the last 3 months payments and they had a technician coming to the promises shutting down the electricity if I did not make a payment.

they advised me to call a phone # :"1800-616-5630" to speak to a manger.

I got suspicious, but I called the number: They said that there were a mixed up on payment due system changing and the business account show not payment for the last 3 months . also he went on saying that if I need to make a payment and if I did not make a payment the electricity was going to shut down.

At this time I was sure it was a scam and I told him: Go ahead and hang up the phone.

I wish someone can identify them and put them away for life.

Called CONTINUALLY to say I owed money and to call to make payment. When I called back the guy told me to “go f myself”.

We have received several calls from a company PS ENG claiming that our power will be turned off immediately unless our account is paid up in full immediately. We do not have an account with this caller and they seem to be trying to scare people that have PSE&G accounts. We have tried to call the number back to talk to a human but it is an automated response saying they are all busy. Be careful that they are trying to frighten and confuse people to get their money.

Good afternoon,

I was scammed by what I thought was PSEG. I was called and told my services would be disconnected if I didn't submit a payment right away. I was told to send the money through Zelle, supposedly PSEG had acquired this payment service and the payment would be posted immediately. I submitted my payment and then I was told that the payment didn't go through so I had to send again. I was then told I would get a refund since I had sent the money multiple times. I again called and I was transferred to another person that told me I had to pay another amount to get my account up to date and once that was submitted I would receive my reimbursement. I spoke to about 17 people supposedly from the billing and collections department at PSEG. Every time I called and spoke to someone was from a different number and when I was told to submit a payment through Zelle, I was told to add recipient as Refund reimbursement and then I had to send money to a different number and then I would receive a confirmation number. After all this was done I would receive my money back within an hour, and nothing was sent over. I was told by one of the supposed high ups from PSEG that every payment requested from me was illegal and that she would take care of the matter. When I spoke to her again she proceeded to tell me I had to send more money to get my money back and that as of yesterday 5/19/2021 at 5 pm I would receive my reimbursement back. I have not received anything and I am now out of over 3000 dollars. This must be stopped I am currently left with no money because of all of this. I have all the phone numbers and phone numbers used to send through ZELLE. I need to find a way to get my money back, with the pandemic this was all I had.

Noticed a missed call. Checked the voicemail and the robo call claimed to be calling on behalf of PGE&G and that if I don’t call them back they have a disconnect order for non-payment. Since I do not have a PSE&G account this was obviously a scam. But for the scammers to leave a call back number tells me they’re a local scam team and not to bright. so I figured I’d let you guys know.

Phone number (908-219-8593) has called multiple times stating my electric service will be shut off for lack of payment. When I go online and verify my account, I realize it is a scam call and do not call back. The calls are becoming more frequent however.

The scammers left a voice mail informing that there was a disconnection order from PSE&G programmed for the same day. I called to clarify and the person I spoke to told me that I had a balance of $398.00, if I wanted to make a payment. I asked which meter was it and they gave me a fake number. I told the man I was going to check all my bills to locate the correct one, that I would call later. I checked and none of my meters matched the number the man had given me. I called back a couple of times more to ask for more information and both times they hung up.

Tried to collect money due to COVID-19

I received an email last night related titled "PSE&G - Past Due - Credit Rating Letter" related to an address that I have not lived for over two years and used an incorrect last name. I know that I do not have a past due balance at the previous account, so I contacted PSEG to confirm/report what I believed to be a scam letter. PSEG confirmed that that I do not have a past due balance and had no record of sending such a letter to me via email. The email was quite believable, and even had a telephone # to the PSEG internet department. I can imagine that people would try to access the document through the link provided and I'm guessing it will then steal their PPI.

Received automated VM after not answering call that there is a disconnection order on my account and my services will be shut off today for non-payment history. Asked me to press a number to be connected or to call the phone number mentioned. Googled the phone number and PSE&G did not come up. Did NOT call this number back

Received a call stating my PSE&G bill has not been paid. I called the above number (spoke to someone apparently by the name Jason Lopez: ext. 6003) and was told my electricity would be turned off within the 1/2 if they did not receive payment (they also stated they can not take credit card or check....it has to be paid by cash). I happened to have my new monthly payment for August from PSE&G and saw that I was not late on any payments. This is a scary scam knowing that their computer that answers the phone when you call states that they are PSE&G.

Spoke to PSE&G on what happened. They said it was a scam, that they do not have ext. #'s and there is nothing they can do about it. They advised me to contact the BBB.

I received a call from number 1-800-418-0940 (PSEG Disruption Department). I spoke with a spanish woman than again with a Spanish man who advised me my service would be disconnected in the next 45 mins due to no payment. They both stated I would need to pay 200.00 immediately to avoid and service disruptions since there was an order within the next 45 mins to disconnect my service.

We are a non-profit, community organization and got a call from the real PSE&G name/number the other day. We were told that "your disconnect order takes effect in 45 minutes. May I speak to the owner?". Although we were suspect, the legit number and name on our caller ID overrode logic. After about 37 minutes of running around looking for account numbers and sitting on hold for 23 minutes, we finally confirmed it was a scam.

On Friday, August 17, 2018, I was scammed by scam artists posing as PSE&G technicians attempting to collect $954 in connection with an outstanding electrical bill. The scam artists instructed me to purchase two (2) MoneyPak prepaid cards each with a certain amount totalling the $954. The scam artists then directed me to call back the phone number disclosed above and to read back the access numbers to the MoneyPak cards so that a payment could be completed. I contacted MoneyPak and was told that there was nothing that could be done being that the money had been withdrawn. My next recourse was to contact the BBB.

Robo call indicating that I won a discount on my PSE&G bill for being a loyal customer. When I spoke with a representative and politely explained that I was on the Do Not Call List, I was hung up on.

Scammer called my husband, said they were from PSE&G. They said were going to cut off our power if we did not pay our bill. They told us to call PSE&G billing office at 201 408-1545. I pay all the bills, so my husband gave the phone to me. I did not call because our bills are paid on time, and we had a $0 balance. Someone might fall for this.
