Notification from a process server with personal information claiming a family member will be served with paperwork. Scare tactics and referenced a case number as well as, “Failure to contact the legal firm may result in further legal action.” Looked up the family members name on the court records and nothing is pending.

Me, my husband & my mother in law, received voicemails from Jason w Process Service Verification saying they have been attempting to serve my husband & I with a court summons for a lawsuit placed against us and that there is a pending lien on our home. He knew and said our real home address. He also gave a case number. When my husband called back, no one answered.

I received a call that went to my voicemail. The person identified themselves as Wayne from PSV, Process Services Verification, and that if I didn't respond to the call and call the issuing agent's legal firm at (833) 478-5253, I will be charged with avoiding service which is a violation of 18 section 1501. Instead of returning the call, I decided to do some due diligence. First, after doing multiple searches, I could not find any law firm or attorney with the 833 number provided in the voicemail. Second, I looked up 18 USC Section 1501 and it has to do primarily with assaulting a process server attempting to serve a writ of process for federal courts. Clearly, not returning a phone call is not assault nor is it legal to serve process over the phone.
