"Attention, this message is intended for ___ _____, this call is pertaining to case # 2024-xxxxxx. There was no name or business name. Later, they called my work from 855-390-9423 and said it was "Ada" from "Process Service Verification," that had legal documents for me. They asked an employee to verify my home address, which they refused to do. This person was pushy and threatened my staff with title 18 section 1501.

I received a call that went to my voicemail. The person identified themselves as Wayne from PSV, Process Services Verification, and that if I didn't respond to the call and call the issuing agent's legal firm at (833) 478-5253, I will be charged with avoiding service which is a violation of 18 section 1501. Instead of returning the call, I decided to do some due diligence. First, after doing multiple searches, I could not find any law firm or attorney with the 833 number provided in the voicemail. Second, I looked up 18 USC Section 1501 and it has to do primarily with assaulting a process server attempting to serve a writ of process for federal courts. Clearly, not returning a phone call is not assault nor is it legal to serve process over the phone.
