Pollo is a con man who steals deposits and does shoddy Asphalt work
After I gave him a $10,000 deposit for the road to my ranch (he requested a check in his name rather than his then company Pollo Paving & Seal Coating) he later demanded that I give him a cashiers check for the balance when he would arrive to do the work. That set off alarm bells and I decided to visit a few of his past customers. All jobs I saw were shoddy and substandard work including one paved road to a ranch owned by Mr. Llyod in Loveland that was so bad that Lloyd told me the unevenly paved asphalt and exposed aggregate made his road “more bumpy to drive on now than when it was just dirt and gravel”. Pollo promised to repair that job but has not done so for the past four months. Photos of that job are attached.
Pollo evaded three months of requests to return my deposit with multiple excuses including that “he was broke” and only recently returning $2,000 of it when I threatened litigation. He reneged on refunding the balance and we have filed suit and reported the theft of the balance to law enforcement. It is a shame that Pollo has chosen this path, he was a very engaging and convincing salesman but turned out to be just a con man. If he simply backed up his selling skills with good ethics and quality work he could have been a success rather than opening and closing companies for the past ten years leaving behind a trail of angry customers.
