I posted a listing on Facebook marketplace to sell a used smart TV. Buyer showed immediate interest said he could come pick it up and asked for my address. I provided it. Then Buyer claimed that his brother was the one picking up the TV for him and he would like to pay me upfront using Venmo or Zelle. I said ok and sent him my Venmo username. He then sent a screenshot of a Venmo error message claiming that he needs my email. This is where I got suspicious and ceased communication. I believe if he got my email he would have continued the scam.

They leave voice messages that I must contact their under writer's because they are attempting to complete my loan application. I have not applied for anything. Scammer called my phone, claimed to be with “Commercial Acceptance Company” and read off the last 4 of my social, my email address, etc. I stated that these were all incorrect. I then asked, “what is this” and did not get a response. I said “please remove me from these lists” and to which he responded “you will never be removed, you will either verify this information or I will make a decision, and you will not like that decision.” To which I hung up.

I received a text message on my personal (unlisted) cell phone today, from phone number: 731-624-1078, not in my contacts, that was just a picture only, no text. It showed a woman's hand holding a bottle of wine, "Romanee" on label, with wine in a glass, nothing else. It instantly raised a red flag! Quick Google search reveals it's a well-known SCAM!! Don't click on anything or open any links, folks!

But, it seems different from the usual Yahoo mail I receive, and Spam. This came in my Gmail InBox. Thank you. My Email address is [email protected] Please let me know if you have any information on who this is, or why "it" has my address.
