They called in regards of a lost pet claiming they worked in an intensive care unit in a vet hospital nearby and was brought by a good samaritan and “showed” the scammer the post of the lost cat which is how they got our phone number and claimed the cat needed surgery which would cost $1599 and when asked to provide a confirmation of it being the right cat the call “disconnected” multiple times and they claimed they had a policy that they couldn’t send pictures of pets to random people and the phone number was found to be from a different state
