Type of a scam Phishing

Sheryl pretended to be an artist asking for permission to paint my photo for a project. I would then be compensated for it. In the end she has sent me an E-check and asking if I could deposit $3000 and give her back $2000. I then realized it was a scam. I did not pay but I can see where someone would. She's very convincing. Sounds like a mom like me. Here is an email I wrote to my uncle, a lawyer, to get his opinion on the matter....."This is going to sound weird but a friend of mine on facebook (that I don’t know) does art and has asked to use a photo of mine in a project. She’s seems to be legit but I’d like your eyes on this document she sent for consent to use my photo. Her Facebook profile shows her kid and other portraits but not much other information. She’s not on other socials as far as I can tell. The document is because she’s paying me. I’ve attached all communication so you can gather if she’s real. This is just not something that happens everyday so I want to be careful. My one question would be why does she need my bank? THANK YOU! " I have screen shots of the whole conversation with her.
