Online Purchase - Kijiji/Ebay Seller: jaysfanatic9 Reports & Reviews (3)

• Oct 23, 2025

I purchased a Josh Donaldson 2016 Postseason Blue Jays jersey from this seller on eBay on October 3, 2025. This jersey was advertised as "Excellent, new condition with no stains or rips whatsoever!". When I initially inquired about the jersey, he gave me his Instagram username and asked me to follow him on it so we could discuss the transaction. When I talked to him on there, he wanted me to send the money to him through PayPal Friends & Family. I knew right off the bat this wasn't a good idea because in the event you do that, if something goes wrong with the transaction you cannot get your money back so I told him I was only willing to purchase it through eBay because of the money back guarantee. I purchased this jersey for $425 CAD which is roughly $330 USD. A day later I noticed I accidentally used an old address and attempted to cancel the order to change my shipping address. Within 30 minutes he declined the request and LIED about shipping the jersey claiming he dropped it off before going to the Blue Jays game (Game 2 of the 2025 ALDS between the Blue Jays and the Yankees) even though tracking wasn't provided until a day later, so this was a blatant lie. Fast forward a week later and I finally go to the old address and receive the jersey. Did not match the description at all just like the previous review stated. Was advertised as "excellent, new condition" but had obvious signs of usage. Stain on one of the patches, worn out washing label, the whole 9. I immediately open a INAD return request and he never responds. I have now asked eBay to step in and they gave him 5 days to issue a return label and he still has not done so. Now I am trying to get a full refund AND keep the jersey which I will just resell. He comes off as a genuine, chill seller but when things go wrong he refuses to take accountability and goes ghost mode. Deal with caution...

Long story short, I wanted to buy an authentic 1993 World Series Joe Carter Toronto Blue Jays jersey for my dad's 65th birthday. He was at the game Carter hit the home run and has wanted this jersey for 30 years. I found some great ones online by jaysfanatic9/Danny, with whom I conversed mostly through Instagram after seeing his Kijiji and eBay stores. He sent the wrong size and will not answer any of my messages across three different platforms. Since he directed the conversation to Instagram, I cannot review him on that platform or the others (since I didn't purchase on eBay or Kijiji). I'm afraid he'll continue to lure sales conversations to platforms where he can't be reviewed to keep a great rating and take others' money without delivering the goods

I found the jersey on eBay initially (https://www.ebay.ca/usr/jaysfanatic9?_pgn=2 - where Danny also encourages looking at his Kijiji store to avoid eBay costs [https://www.kijiji.ca/o-profile/55219873/listings/1]). I sent him an inquiry about the jersey on Kijiji and he invited me to his Instagram account where he had more jerseys. I followed him on Instagram, found the same jersey in a better size, and told him I'd like to order it. He was so fast and helpful at first. The jersey was $625, I sent him the money and he shared the tracking number.

The jersey arrived a few days later and it was the wrong size. I messaged him on Instagram about the error and learned he'd blocked me. My girlfriend messaged him mentioning I was trying to get a hold of him, and he blocked her too. He hasn't responded to any of my messages on Kijiji or eBay.

The scam has layers. 1) he sent me the wrong item and has cut off communications. Sending the wrong item happens and can be fixed; cutting off communication with a customer is suspicious. 2) Because the transaction happened on Instagram, I cannot review this buyer on Kijiji or eBay and warn others of his business tactics. How many times has he done this before? How many other victims can't warn others? His eBay reviews show he's clearly been a great businessperson in the past so what's going on recently?

His name is Danny Harnett

Today he is know as Jaysfanatic9 but he was also known as Jaysfan9 and Nick

Forget about the scam for a second and let's talk about Danny as a human being first

To start, he is a legitimate Jays fan:

https://torontolife.com/style/the-jays-are-back-heres-what-their-die-hard-fans-w... />
Here he is in a Torontolife article wearing one of the jerseys he has for sale on his eBay store (https://www.ebay.ca/itm/176297292053?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&s... />
I hope he sends it to the cleaners before he ships it off to the lucky buyer!

But aside from having an intense passion for the Jays, he has an OBSESSION for game used authentic memorabilia

This passion combined with his greed made the disgrace that he is today.

For some buyers it is their first time searching for items, but for myself, I have searched and looked for things for many years.

And at some point, you will encounter Danny like I did.

The first time I met him off a Kijiji ad, he was responsive. Appeared to have a legitimate item that was fairly priced.

He was a little pushy, but he agreed to meet and the transaction was made.

We chatted, shared our passion for the Jays and the hobby and left.

Days, weeks even months after he was texting me! Hey I got this! Hey I got that!

It was like a subscription I couldn't stop!

Eventually I found an item I liked and agreed to buy

Then he SNAPS! Accused me of being someone I wasn't

Instantly blocked me.

Wow... I didn't know what to say!

Over the years he posted stuff I really wanted. Some of his stuff are obvious bootlegs (things he claims are authentic)

But I wanted a hat.

The hat was listed as "Brand new never used" and was exactly what I wanted (Danny truly knows what people want!)

I wanted it so much I was willing to deal with "The Danny" to get it

I used another account to contact him. Again, same pleasant but pushy guy

I just rolled with it. Made order. Got my item, but THE HAT WAS USED!

I told him about it and he just said "Sorry"

I hated it, but over the years I let it pass.

In that time I saw many of his ads come and go.

I also noticed his Ads were appearing with a different name when I replied to one!

Your name is Nick? You tell me you've been selling online for 15 years, but your Kijiji profile says its only 1 year old? Really?!

This time he refuses to meet. Send payment first.

Same result. He storms off. Blocks you and tells you to F-off

Now here we are in 2024. This time Joe Carter is coming to town to sign autographs and Danny knows what people will be looking for: Joe Carter jerseys

Stupid me, I go and poke The Danny again and this time its:

"Give me your shipping address NOW!"

"Give me the money NOW!"

"I don't care if you're spending $800 I'm not going to meet you because other people have bailed on me before and now this is my policy. Like it or leave it"

Then he stalks me.

Screen captures social media channels I did not tell him about.

Starts talking about me and details he shouldn't even know in a traditional buyer/seller relationship

SCAMMER AND A FREAK SHOW!

In 2016 he had a Twitter/X account @jaysfan9 and you can literally read him harrassing other girls

The girls accounts have changed and some have been deactivated (Probably because of Danny?)

I filed a report with the Police, so we'll see where this goes
