I was emailed about a job offer from a reputable company. Did an email interview answering job related questions. Proceeded to secondary questions. They congratulated me and proceeded to make a job offer. Then asked me to purchase office computer and equipment, software to be used in my remote position. They offered to reimburse prior to start date. Then they wanted me to wire transfer funds for the equipment. I called their preferred vendor, spoke to the owner and he told me it was a scam. Don't do it! I proceeded to contact the company but was unable to speak to a live person. The only information they got from me was my Drivers License on their employment verification documents, after I received the offer and congratulatory letter. I have acct. number routing and routing number bank info they wanted me to wire transfer too. Can the scammer be tracked with that info? When they switched to Google chat and I commented on the legitimacy of the whole thing....the conversation went dead. Should I report this to the police for documentation, in case my DL information is used in the future?
