Oak Hill Insurance Impostor - Healthcare Coverage Scam Reports & Reviews (2)

• May 04, 2023

My daughter went online looking for medical insurance. A woman called her back, and after discussing what would be covered, (my daughter is 27 yo, so she would need things like sick visits, emergencies or surgery covered, vs wellness visits) sold my daughter a fake plan that no one takes. We only found out after she broke her arm on 4/18/23.

She's paid over $1,100. in premiums, and the selling agency tells me there's no one there by the name of Nicole Fillmann, and then refused to speak with me:

I believe I fell victim to the same scam, I was told I had bought unlimited coverage but then something just told me this was wrong. The representative I spoke to was named Haley and she pulled all my personal information and payment info. I grew suspicious of the email being signed by a different agent, though Hayley claimed to be the agent helping me. I googled the name, and viola, this post alerted me of the issue.

After delving further into this, contacting back the numbers provided etc, it turned out i was given a LIMITED coverage plan, that only allows very very few things (not at all what i was sold or promised over the phone, and I even have a witness to attest that I was told on the phone I had ‘full coverage’).

This post helped me catch this really early on luckily, but I was almost ‘schmoozed’ over the phone into thinking I had got a great rate for a great plan. The LA (licensed agent) number you wrote is different from the one in my email, which also alarmed me. Mine was an LB (licensed broker) number that ties to absolutely nobody when looking it up. Type in Nicole’s name and any random license number these scammers are dishing out and you’ll find nothing. (Not sharing the number in the case that the license numbers are an identifier for each scam successfully completed, and they chose to maliciously follow up on this post.)

You can look up any mortgage lender, for example, with their their name and NMLS license number and easily locate that person, typically with a headshot even attached. The fact that “Nicole” is untraceable affirms she is the fake scapegoat that in some legally tight way keeps this scam afloat.

They also do all billing through a third party, which doesn’t hold them liable to any claims of fraudulently taking money, as your agreement to pay is set up with a difference company completely.

Still not 100% sure that I was sold no policy, as it never went effective, but I was certainly bait and switched and misled.

Maybe there’s a possibility they sell these really cheap and almost invaluable plans, to dispute “not rendering a service” and the main aspect of the scam is that they’re ripping tons of money on top of the premium, for a policy who’s plan is limited and useless and elsewise has a very low, low premium.

Can’t fully crack this one as I’m only a couple hours into this rabbit hole. But, certainly this “ Nicole Fillmann ” of “ OHI” is a bogus character and should he an indication that something about subscription offered is bogus.

To further clarify, I even tried to verify my coverage through the provider’s directly via their websites, I was directed to reputable people who would be able to locate me in their system and talk to me about coverage. They were UNABLE to find me in their databases.

The support number attached to the emails was the only place I could be positively identified in a system, through the 3rd party billing company, which still strikes me as off. Only upon speaking to this “billing department” did they reveal my plan was not the plan I thought I purchased. That was enough to set me off and affirm that something unethical was taking place.

I hope this helps in the future for anyone reading this or suspicious of a “policy” they just bought.

Your best bet is to go to a .gov website and seek connections reliably to get started.

Thank you as well for sharing your experience, I think you helped prevent me from falling victim to a potentially worse situation.
