I was contacted by someone representing a Debt Consolidation Company. I told her I was already enrolled. She asked a lot of questions and said she could get my debt paid from a federal grant program, and only take two years to get all the paperwork/legal stuff taken care of. I signed up on Jun 26, 2026. I paid a July payment and an August payment, but I did not even get a Welcome Call until Aug 5th. I contacted them several times about their misrepresentation and they would never address what my concerns were. I guess they argue with my creditors that they misrepresented themselves and therefore will need to be reimbursed for the money I spend with my creditors. However, when I cancelled and asked for a refund or partial refund of at least a month, they did not comply. Nor did they do anything to help my credit or keep me informed.
