Within a week of me registering my LLC with the State of Missouri I received a letter in the mail from "MO Corporate Certificates" requesting me to mail a check for $85 and a form back to receive my certificate of good standing. The state offers these for $10 to my understanding and the address used is not a legitimate address to a state entity, it is to a lockbox. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

My new business received a fake invoice for $73.75 for a Missouri Certificate of Good Standing. The alleged business is actually a mailbox at a UPS Store.

I recently started an LLC and I received an official looking letter suggesting that I purchase a Certificate of Good Standing. The fee was $73, however, this document can be purchased directly from the Secretary of State for much less. I sent them the check, and latter realized it was a scam. As a precaution, I had to close my bank account and open a new one.
