I tried to but a mini highland cow for my wife for Christmas. I paid for the cow but after that a bunch of "hidden fees" started to populate. The seller claims that they've shipped cows to other states before, which means that they knew about these expense but didn't say anything about it upfront. They used a shipping company called "Express Shippers and Logistics" who made me pay $3000 for insurance of which they said $2500 would be refunded after delivery was completed. Here's where things stayed getting obviously fishy. I live in Reno, Nevada and the shipment tracker said that the cow was on hold on Las Vegas, pending an "import permit" that supposedly costs almost $2000. Having been super stressed and frustrated already at this point i decided to do some deep digging. I found out from the Nevada Department of Agriculture that they don't charge for import permits unless it's requested from an accredited vetrinarian. As soon as i called out the shipping com I any and the cow ranch about it and threatened to report them both to the police, both of them went radio silence. My wife and i are now disputing the charges with our bank to hopefully get our money back. If you work or live in anything to do with livestock, i would recimend only bying locally and definitely don't trust this seller.
