Facebook scam

I was contacted by an unknown number from zepeda prescott who said he was from metro group he asked the usual interview questions then he said he had to check with the main office after five minutes I was hired he said he would send me a check in the mail today to purchase the items I needed for work but I have yet to see a check and when I told him the name of my bank? He asked did I have another bank ?

+2

I gave him the name of my bank but no other information.
Is it even possible for them to get access with that little of information?

I received a text message from an unknown person informing me that they saw my resume on indeed and that I filled out the application. I did fill out an app that had the same payrate for $20 an hour. However, I could not locate this particular app in my find jobs section on indeed. I was given a telegram number and it would not pull up 405-818-2946 for a Richard Parish. I could not locate this person. So I told the unknown person and they provided me with his whatsapp number 682-231-0755. Now he did ask some legit interview questions and seemed real. He even sent me this link https://www.metroag.de/en/company/our-vision for the type of job I would be doing. Anywho after answering his questions he told me to wait 5 mins so that he could submit my info to his Head Dept. I was hired within 5 minutes. I became skeptical about this after giving my address. I've never done an online interview before so I thought this was something new due to covid. I just continued to have a bad & suspicious feeling about this when he said to reach back out at 8am the next day for updates and how to get started with work. Please be careful with these kinds of text messages about high paying positions and being provided with telegram numbers & etc. I am awaiting his response because now I am going to probe him and ask him some very specific questions. The questions I asked were will I still get the employment letter? Who is it coming from? I'm going to wait to see if he asks for banking info then I'll call him out for sure. Be careful.

Did you ever hear anything else from him?
I just went through this same process about an hour ago.

Same thing happened to me as above. I received a text from "Michael Saperstein from METRO GROUP" that they saw my resume and wanted to get an interview in with me for some open positions. He said he wanted to message through WhatsApp, Skype or Telegram. The number that contacted me was +1 (678) 263 - 8215. I added them on Skype and of course I was sketched out from the beginning due to poor grammar and syntax that felt very unprofessional. I added a Richard Parish who apparently works at the Atlanta, GA firm which I did not see anywhere when I looked it up on google. They linked me to the company site which is www.metroag.de/en. The company is not even based in U.S. but I assume it is a real company but they are just using it to scam people. I am not sure.

He told me there were a bunch of positions. I chose Data Entry Clerk. He asked questions like, do I have a fax machine, what telemarketer I use... my email, and address which I unfortunately gave. I simply did not know people scammed like this. He also gave a list of items that the company would supposedly pay for that I had to purchase from their site. He said I would receive a job offer in my email the next morning which I did and it seemed so unprofessional. (ATTACHED).

He simply said to report to him at 8 am the next day. I did not because I had just found this site in the middle of the night because I felt so skeptical. I got the email from Garret Bryan [email protected].

He actually called me on skype a couple times in the morning and I did not answer. I then messaged back with a link to this page and said can you explain this to me and I have not gotten a response back yet. I think he deleted or blocked me because he is no longer live hahahha. Anyways, I am thankful this post/site exists!

I was contacted by Robert Ryan about an application I had on Indeed. It was already sketchy since their English and grammar was terrible. And they said they wanted to conduct an interview through Hangout, Skype, or WhatsApp. The person I spoke with on WhatsApp was Eckhard Cordes. There is an actual person with that name working for the company, but I don't believe that I was actually speaking with him. He asked for my phone provider and bank. I lied for both of those. I was sure this was a scam from the start but I am glad I can finally verify it.

The same thing happened to me. I got a text message from a Kelvin Smart saying that they have received my application on ZipRecruiter and want to do an interview. We did a text messaging interview via Google Hangouts, which was strange. A guy named Washington Nicholas conducted my interview and it was real brief and he said I was hired. After researching if I even applied from a position at this company, I realized that I did not. So I contacted Kelvin Smart and said I never applied and he replied that they paid ZipRecruiter to view my resume; also weird. They also offered to send me a check to purchase all these office supplies and softwares. And a James Scott sent me some weird looking employment offer lettee which was formatted and organized strangely. I couldn’t even find these three names on LinkedIn. I couldn’t even find the position they hired me for on METRO AG’s LinkedIn page. This has definitely got to be a scam. Especially after reading other people’s experiences.

Omg I sign the documents and gave them my address and my what bank I was with I never gave them my routing or account number though I’m so scared

When: 1/14/2021
Names :Roland Prescott and Robert Ryan.

They offered me a job working from home but asked me to buy software and furniture from their vendors with the check they are about to mail me.
I found the scam reports about this company from scampulse.com and realized that it’s a scam.
Thank you all who posted these reports! Really appreciate it.

Roland and Robert scammed me by pretending to be traders. I have lost thousands and now I can’t get any help from anyone.

If anyone says their names are Robert and Roland don’t do business with them.

The company they claim to be working for is metro livetrade. Please everyone stay away from this company

Was sent 2 checks to purchase items to work from home for the company, both checks were rejected, I stated to the company that if they truly needed me to purchase the items for the amount the attended just were for then they needed to directly deposit the funds into my account themselves. I was then sent 3rd check to try once again to deposit, when I refused I was then sent a generic employment contract for a their person claiming to be the head of the department, which department I am unsure. These forma come complete with an I9 form form, however, the head of the department failed to include a w-4 form along with the generic employment package.

I just got the same scam and was contacted by the following email addresses: [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. I was also contacted through skype by Mr. Jordan Bishop and he did what he called a virtual interview. The same scheme was used and he promised to send me a check and a PC and I was supposed to buy the software needed to do the tasks related to the position of customer services... Yes, the title he mentioned was customer services... and he even sent me an employment letter with this same title. He also gave me a link to Metro AG, a company in Germany that does not have a business in the US. I questioned Mr. Bishop about his email address not coming from Metro and he then silenced in skype. This is really a scam.

I received a text message from Mr. Kelvin Smart initially sent me the text from +1(626) 263-2957 of Metro Group offering me employment. I was notified that I would be using Skype using my cell phone and I told them that would no happen on my phone but would use my laptop; however, when I tried to Skype, my call was declined; then the interview proceeded as a text/chat session. I was given the exact same directions and instructions as others had been given. I was told that I would receive a check within 24-hours, but I declined; but the check arrived Wednesday afternoon (Dec 9, 2020) anyway. The check was written on Martinique HOA Account (c/o Harbor Management), Jupiter, FL. I called Harbor Management to learn their checking account had been hacked. I've shared with them everything I'm saying to you so they can begin to resolve the issue from their account.

Mr. Kelvin Smart initially sent me the text from +1(626) 263-2957. The number on the FedEx envelope is (775) 223-4642. The sender is listed as Reno Living Microgreens LLC, 1060 Hunter Lake Dr., Reno, NV 89509.

Any further questions?

I’m unsure if this place is a scam, please investigate into it. I was contacted through text by the number provided by a person named Taylor Bobby of Metro Group Company who claimed to have found me through a job fair on a job site, for the position of a Call Center Job that you can work from home. They instructed me to install “google hangouts” to have an interview over text and then my training would begin. I was mailed a check to buy equipment and the check was for almost $4,000. I deposited it into my bank account and it was put on hold for about a week. Throughout this I was contacted by a woman name Stefanie Blaser (a hiring manager for Metro Group Company) over the app Google Hangouts. She asked me if it got deposited and when I informed her it has, she asked how much is available. I informed her that none of it is. She also asked for an images of my receipt and said I could block out my details which I did. She then asked me to send $50 to upgrade my profile in their data base, which I didn’t do. So I suspect this business of being a scam. Please look into it.
