Ashley and Donna from Mediation Recovery Services claims that Direct Loans has a file with her company to file a civil suit from a loan I supposedly took out 12-16 years ago. A loan I know I never took out. They fail to provide me with information that proves the debt is legitimate.

They were able to give me information on where I lived, someone I worked for, all information which would be in public record. When I told them I would be disputing the information, they told me they would be sending out a letter with the court date to fight it. They did not confirm my current address, to provide Legal Serving.

Note, they claim the civil case is related to a bad check and admit they cannot criminally prosecute due to statute of limitations. They claim I owe $1500 and are willing to make a payment arrangement of $700+ for a onetime payment or $250 payment X Four months.

After talking to an attorney, it has been revealed to me that Statute of Limitations has passed on this false claim.

Moral of the story; If someone contacts you about a debt that you "owe," do your research and don't pay a dime unless they provide physical evidence of their claim. Above all else, if you are being sued, you will receive a letter stating the facts of the case and when and where to appear. A company will never call you to mediate before going to court. Stay safe!

may 22 I was recovering from covid and got a call that I had an outstanding debt that I owed Wells Fargo and they were supposedly suing me. this company claimed they were the 3rd party handling the debt and calling me to let me know that I was being sued... it was wierd cus they said that they had my info but it was wrong. they asked did I have an account between 08 and 2018 and I said yeah but then when i actually thought about it... I never had an actual account and I was a victim of the scam Wells Fargo pulled making fake accounts. I explained that to them and they said it doent matter... they said they have a loan that I took out for 500 dollars that collected interest and now I'm supposedly being sued.... I told them that is not true. I never took a loan out nor did I authorize one. he continued on after I shut down the accusations of giving my info out and he said I'm still responsible for the unpaid debt and that I will be receiving papers in the mail about a court date. I asked him about the details and he got defensive with me saying it doesn't matter. he kept telling me it don't matter, wat matters is u owe this debt and you are the one being sue. so I asked him what was the address they had on file because he claimed that they had been trying to reach me for some time... that's when the story became comedy to me..

my address that they supposedly had on file was completely wrong and I wasn't going to correct them. I just told them it's wrong and he still said it didn't matter... then he was quick to hang up... what a joke. they tried the same lame thing with my girl under another name and I pin pointed where they were at and it said somewhere in OKC... they were even ruder with her then with me... she was scared and I took over and they hung on me but not with out laughing first...

I have recently been called by a phone number multiple times a day and I do not answer numbers I don't recognize until they leave a voicemail and I know who I'm talking to. Well that number started calling my husband's cell phone. So he answered it. This woman named Whitney Owen's from Mediation Recovery Services said she is calling on the behalf of JB Robinson as a mediator. From her information I owe 400 plus dollars to JB Robinson from 2014! Now I did receive a call like this in 2017 (unsure if it the same people) but I paid the 400 dollars and moved on with life, until now. I stated I paid this bill and she preceded to tell me that I need that proof of payment so I can go to court which ofcourse I don't have. She said I could either pay the bill or go to court for theft and pay attorney fees and court costs and still pay the bill. Well ofcourse I'm scared so I told her to give us some time to call around to figure something out and she gave me until 3pm to call or else she was going to send the court documents over and I'd go to court. So my husband and I called as many people from the credit place that we could even a collection agency we deal with currently and everyone stated that it was a scam and I owe jb robinson nothing. The account is closed and I am in good standing with the company as it is paid off. So we called Miss Whitney Owen's back and my husband asked for any information from the collection agencies that she had and she really said this to us, "I am not going to have my assistant walk all the way upstairs for a 400 bill. I usually would have her do that for 10,000 plus dollar bills." She also said that a 400 bill is nothing. She gets paid $1500.00 per account that she deals with. After going back and forth with this woman she said she's tired of arguing and since we "refused" to pay the bill then she is sending us to court and adding $1,400.00 to my bill to pay. Even though we never refused to pay it. Every professional person we talk to has said this is 100% a scam. So if its not I expect papers to come in the mail. I'm just going to continue listening to our collection agency when they say "if its a number you don't recognize, don't answer it. Make them leave a voicemail and once you know what the call is about then call them back." Be careful out there everyone. Don't fall for this woman's scam!
