Received this bill - everyone says it's a scam!

May 2024, received a bill for $23.52 in the mail - address is taken from our 911 address (we live in a rural area), which is the first red flag. The company - MCI a Verizon Company - doesn't give any way to contact them except by either return mail (they ask you to mail in a payment, but don't specify who to write the check to or in what form of money they want the payment) or by phone number (1-800-226-0014). The letter says that "The charges for these calls will not be on any other telephone company's invoice." so that when you call your provider, it "makes sense" that it's not on their call list.

SOMEHOW, the company managed to use two phone numbers (ours and a friend of ours) to make it look legit. However, THIS IS NOT LEGIT. Too many red flags. If you get a bill like this, DO NOT PAY IT.

MCI Verizon Bill has to be a scam

I received a bill for 36 dollars, saying that I called uc davis for 25 minutes. I have Frontier so I have no idea what this craziness is about. I will dispute this but there is NO ONE to contact. I cannot get a hold of anyone and I refuse to call MCI Verizon.

We have Verizon. I never signed up for mci. Been getting bills from them for long distance for 20 years. 18.00a month. This month the bill was for 1,000.00. That’s a problem. It is a fax line. Why 1,000 dollars. Is this a scam

The date on the letter is from March 2022. I havn’t lived at the address on the letter in 10 years! I have no accounts with MCI in Jacksonville, FL.

FAKE INVOICE

I have also received a Billl from MCI, PO BOX 600674, Jacksonville FL 32260-067 for a 30 minute call that was made on 12-30-21 for the amount of $69.81. I called the billing inquiries number 1-800-226-0014 to inquire and the Service Rep named Stephanie at ext 105 told me she would reduce the amount to $21.00 but I had to pay by check and that they do not accept credit cards. Very suspicious? When I googled MCI in Jacksonville it comes up with the address 270 Ellison Rd., Jacksonville FL, this a wooded lot on Google Maps. I refuse to pay this bill, let them take me to collections. SCAM! DO NOT PAY EITHER!

Received an invoice from MCI Verizon company charging for three calls one call was $157.18 the two remaining calls for $1.22 these are scams and it says send money to post office box 600674, Jacksonville, FL 32260 I’m not gonna pay it and you shouldn’t either.!

Received an Invoice in the mail from MCI a Verizon Company, charging phone operator assisted services. Our Company is small and I am the only office person. I did not make any phone calls from the office line to SNJS West CA, which is what the bill stated. Called the number on the Invoice and received a voicemail to leave a message. No address, only a PO Box and no Website listed. Realized it must be a scam and googled it. Found someone who reported this back in February of 2018. Looks like they are at it again.

The Invoice was for a small amount. I believe they felt it would get paid easily since it was a small amount. I suspect they were going to continue Invoicing each month.

I received a bill which stated "The following calls were completed using MCI's Network. The charges for these calls will not be on any other telephone company's invoice. Please pay upon receipt to MCI. Thank you." The supposed charges were to a phone in Honolulu Hawaii. When I checked with my long distance carrier I have an unlimited plan for the entire US and the only calls shown were to Las Vegas Nevada on those days. When I call the number for billing inquires a voice asked for my contact information but did not identify that it was MCI. An internet search indicates that this is a scam.

A bill was sent to me for $6.01, my landline phone number listed as account number. Narrative reads:

"Please be advised that as of today's date the above referenced AMOUNT DUE is at least 30 days past due. You will be blocked from gaining access to MCI a Verizon Company's network. Once the AMOUNT DUE is paid, if you would like to have access to MCI a Verizon Company's network, please call 1-800-226-0014 to have that request processed. Thank you."

I don't have an arrangement with MCI a Verizon Company.

I have received invoices for several years from MCI a Verizon Company showing that we are being billed for long distance phone calls that supposedly are over and beyond our contract with our phone company, but we are a business and we have unlimited long distance. The invoice looks real, includes one of our phone numbers and a legitimate designation phone number, I can see where someone might pay this thinking it is legitimate. This makes me furious and it is just WRONG, I have wanted to report them for a long but just never have. I hope that you can look into this because I know people are being taken advantage of by this company. Thank you!

Fake charges using my home number only thing is We use a totally different carrier which I contacted asap, and they reassured me in no way do they use MCI a Verizon and We should never be charged anything from this company if indeed it is a real company !!searching the net I found several complaints about this same address and 800 number so please shut them down!!!!
