We are a childcare management software company and received a demo request from an individual claiming to be with Marin Country Day School. Name: Christopher Buchbinder. Email: [email protected]. Phone: (858) 318-0830. The booked a demo and was on the video call with their camera off. At the end said they wanted to go ahead with getting the software. They signed a proposal under the name Christopher Buchbinder. During the payment processing application, we received a notice from the credit card company that their risk assessment came back that this company (name & TIN) owed them almost $3,000 in chargeback fees from an inactive Kangarootime account (a different childcare management software). They submitted their cc application with a driver's license with the name Matthew Lheureux, a SSN, and voided check with the school's name clearly photoshopped onto it. When I called the school and spoke with the Director of Technology and he shared that this group has been using the school's information—along with data obtained from a data breach involving their board members—to run credit card scams. Unfortunately, they’ve been dealing with this issue for over a year across multiple vendors.
