I bought a pair of earrings on Mary’s Gems, a website I found online while looking for handmade jewelers — It supposedly was by a woman named Mary who lived in NY and was retiring and selling her jewelry pieces at a discount. When I received the order, however, the earrings came in a plastic bag that said made in China — they didn’t look like what I’d ordered and were of low quality (not how they were described on the site) — I unfortunately didn’t check out whether this business was legit before purchasing — “Mary’s” supposed ‘story’ of how she loved making jewelry but was now retiring was a good line that fooled me! A lesson of beware and check out businesses before buying —

This website tell the consumer that "Mary" crafts her jewelry (handmade with real silver and stones) in her studio located in Mattituck, NY. The consumer see beautiful handcrafted jewelry photos but what you really get is very cheap costume jewelry from China! It took over a month to deliver, the it's going on 3 months to receive a refund- which I still have not received. The jewelry was nothing like advertised and Mary is a scam!

Website sold allegedly hand-made jewelry that was heavily discounted due to going out of business sale. Received jewelry but very cheap quality and not as represented. Phone number and email don't work. Appears to have been shipped from out of country to a factory in Vernon, CA at 5215 S. Boyle Ave and then shipped to me.

I ordered several items of supposedly handmade jewelry on February 6, 2025. I sent an email when I hadn’t received the items after 7 days. I got a response that they were “taking some time.” I got two updates that the order was being filled and subsequently “in transit.” More time passed without delivery and when I tried to track the order it wasn’t recognized. I suspected a scam early on but since I was communicating with the seller I wasn’t sure.

I saw an Instagram advertisement for a small business owned by a woman named Mary in New York who stated " after years I have come to the difficult decision to close my shop." I placed an order in support advertised as "express shipping". I requested shipping to CT. Then I noticed on the order confirmation that the shipping origin is China. I made multiple attempts to contact "Mary". I received delayed emails that had robot sounding verbage. Initially, I was told the shipping address could easily be changed to my permanent MA address since "express shipping" from China would not arrive to CT within the week that I was there. Again, delayed email responses that concluded February 22nd stating the shipping could not be changed. I googled the company and found MULTIPLE warnings from people stating that the company is not who they say they are, not in the USA, and not individually made high quality.

Jewelry was marketed incorrectly regarding materials, location where created, and not all items were shipped and received. After multiple attempts no refunds for missing items or information to support return of items with the 30 day return policy. Not answering actual questions.

The jewelry from Mary's Gems is made from plastic rather than the materials listed for their vintage jewelry. The Facebook ad said Mary was going out of business. From what I can discern, there is no Mary and the company making the jewelry is in Hong Kong. I've lost $99.48

The website claims that Mary, the owner was having a mega sale of up-to 80% off. The jewelry(rings) I received were fakes, made of cheap materials. The description on the website stated they were made of 925 sterling silver.

The company present pictures of one item as gorgeous and beautiful and sends counterfeit crap.

They portrait themselves as an old lady selling her workshop. Then it takes about a month to come, and when it comes it is **** jewelry. It is based in China. When you write they tell you that her factory is in China and you must return the items to China. So I lost my money because is super crappy. They also manage Hele's gems with the same story, an old lady closing her workshop. I reported to Facebook at my second attempt I think they put it down. ***********************************************
