I was approached by a company claiming to be M1 Teck inc and they offered me a data entry position. They sent me a Teams invite for an interview. The email address was [email protected]. After the "interview", the person in the Teams chat and the response from the email let me know they would be emailing me a check for me to deposit in my checking account so that I could buy materials for a home office. This seemed suspicious, so I reached out to the bank and the company on the check. The bank sent me a phone number that confirmed there was money in the account, which alerted me that it was a true checking account. The business on the check was Equipmentville, USA LLC and I contacted them. They confirmed that it is a fraudulent situation and they did not approve any transactions with me.
