Signed up for vacation club at Reef28 resort in playa del carmen resort. We were told that in order to get a free massage at the resort, we have to attend a seminar about this vacation club. Seminar went well and they assured us it wasnt a timeshare, they skimmed through the information, told us they will be available for help 24/7, and that we will be able to travel all around the world whenever we want. We were pressured to sign the contract immediately so we can take advantage of extra perks. After struggling to figure out how this works they misrepresented everything. 1. It is extremely difficult to get in touch with someone, calls are disconnected, emails take almost a week to be responded to, and our salesperson is never available. 2. The process to get credits to use around the world is tedious and it doesnt guarantee that we will get the value of credits initially promised. (For example, in person, our sales person told us that if we exchange 4 of our "weeks" then we will recieve 180k worth of rewards credits. We did that and only recieved 55k. This wont even cover a domestic flight). 3. We were told we can sell the weeks...however noone has bought it. 4. We were told we will be eligible for an unlimited number of credits after we sign up. However in actuality we are restricted to 4 transcactions (weeks, ecos, etc) per year. So after paying a 4k downpayment with monthly payments of $800, we are inly eligible for 55k rewards credits...which is about a $200 flight. It doesnt make sense financially and we were lied to my RCI Leading Vacation Club. 4. Our reservation isnt guaranteed if we want to stay at the reef28 again. It takes days for responses so initial slots become unavailable. Plus there is very little discount. At this point, we are paying for abosolutelt nothing
