24/7 Locksmith Service Reports & Reviews (7)

- Portland, OR, USA

I got interrupted and distracted by a visitor and forgot to put my extra key in back in my lockbox. When I realized I was locked out of my house and my neighbor offered her phone I called the first ad for a locksmith on google, "A1 Locksmith". The guy on the phone said the locksmith would be there quickly. It took about twice the time and when the guy arrived little things seemed off. He tried to "pick" my lock by shaking a small blade in it in this meaningless/unskilled type of way. He did not have a light so my neighbor got her flashlight and helped him. My neighbor and I decided to check a window and this locksmith tried to help us and he started to climb up the wrong side of the ladder. He was about 25 to 30 and I thought that didn't seem too bright. The window was too unsafe to try to maneuver so I decided to have the locksmith drill the door as he could not pick it open. He then proceeded to smoke, right in front of both of us and I had been told I would be charged by the hour. The guy wanted to replace my door knob with a silver knob and my deadbolt was gold and I had to tell him to pick a gold knob. He then proceeded to drill my doorknob and broke the bit off in the doorknob. He seemed very nervous and metal parts were being scattered in various places and he was causing minor damage to my wooden door in his blundering. I wanted to tell him to call and ask for help but held my tongue trying to be nice. He finally got in and made matching keys but not before losing one of them. He requested I pay him on Venmo and I refused. I asked him for a receipt and he gave me an invoice with the "24/7 Locksmith Service OR" on it with the 855-912-7398 and [email protected] listed on it. He asked I sign it but had written nothing on it. I just wanted him to leave asap at this point. He then wrote that he had replaced a new ignition under automotive that I did not notice until later and I paid him with my credit card. I did receive a text receipt. The kid had changed my door knob handle and given me two matching keys, one for the knob and the other for the deadbolt and the charge was $280.00. I did not question because two years ago someone had changed both the deadbolt and the knob for slightly the same amount. Online under my credit card was listed "locksmith Call Servi Vally Villager #2469216KW2XeBAAQ9S". After this kid "Sal" left I checked my phone for the original number I'd called and it did not work. I then called the number online for "A1 locksmith" and complained that the guy had done a sketchy job. The man did not listen, talked over me, and rushed to get me off the phone, even when I called back. He became more irritated when I called back the second time and said a manager would get back to me in 24 to 48 hours. No one did. That night I then called and left a message with the number listed on the invoice. No one got back to me then. On Thursday the following week, five days later I called the number on the invoice and a man answered who would not identify himself other than the owner of A1 and several other companies. He was sort of receptive at first, but abrupt and asked me when it was and which locksmith it was. When I said Sal, he said this guy no longer worked for him. He then got increasingly frustrated wanted to know what else I expected him to do and him complaining that all I did was keep talking and I needed to listen to him. I was trying to tell him about all the little things that had happened that culminated to me thinking the business was sketchy. He then told me that he "could tell that I was a miserable person with a "miserable life" and I told him I would report him as I'd never seen service this bad before. He told me if I called him again he would have me arrested. The google online reviews I wrote did not show up and the business is still listed as 5 stars. Who knows how many other locksmith businesses he is running that operate like this. I called a locksmith then from Angie's List, Metrolocks and this guy was very professional and gave me two new keys. His business has been around for 30 years. I checked the State of Oregon website online and 24/7 A1 locksmith had not renewed their registration since 2007 though online it appears to have been background checked by google. I filed a complaint with the federal trade commission as well. The metro locks guy told me the dead bolt was not even working the way he found it which was originally replaced by "Alhambra" a couple years ago, another locksmith service that charged $250.00 and up for changing a deadbolt and doorknob plus keys. Apparently they did not do it right per the Angie's List locksmith as it was not working properly. The Angie's List guy said he would've charged $150.00 for the fix that the A1 people charged $280.00 for. I'm concerned that this owner owns multiple locksmith companies with incompetent service, abusive and fear inducing customer service. I'm concerned that he has keys to a lot of people's houses as well and he's listed as 5 stars on google. I could not even find his business names to complain about listed on this website officially. Please follow up, thank you.

I called them to make a key for my van this morning while in the hospital. He came and I sent my sister to get the cash to pay him 165. I called and told him the keys didn't work. Ask him to come back he said fine. Never showed up called the 1(800)223-1453. 25 times I got an excuse from every caller my daughter #was given they couldn't find it or the service address??

I was locked out of my bedroom. We found 24/7 Locksmith in a search engine at https://www.key.me. Did not pay attention to the website, just called 253-455-7362. The representative was not initially clear how much the quote was. I wasn't sure if language was a barrier. I specifically asked what is the cost. He then clearly stated to come out it is $19 then $25 or more depending on the difficulty of the lock. The tech arrived he stated $19 to come out and if he could "jimmy it open" it would $25 if not it would be more. Less than 10 minutes later he jimmied it open without difficulty and my husband who did not hear the quotes I was given walked out to pay him. They were out there a while so I walked out and found out my husband had just paid $141. I said "Oh no" and made the tech wait to figure out the situation. He then says it was $99 to come out and the rest for the lock. He then said probably I didn't understand his English which was perfectly fine. I said no way. He kept changing the numbers and frankly I was just pissed. My husband said we will give you $70. He took a cash payment. He was angry evident by his body language and raising his voice. I believe this would have been worse if my husband was not there. I believe he was trying to intimidate me, but he did not do this with my husband. He left and I started researching this business. They are a total scam They showed up in an unmarked car. No one provided their names and when I called back and asked for the techs name they said they do not not know. They said they do not track who they send out on job. The tech's phone number is 253-287-7403. I found 3 business names; Keyme, 24/7 Locksmith, and the phone number is listed under NEUTRAL TANDEM,INC. It appears they often change their addresses but the one I found is listed as 1101 Outlet Collection Way Suite 1206 Auburn WA 98001. When I asked for their website they said it was "under construction". There was no license plate either. I also realized afterward my daughter almost got scammed by the same tech and he cussed her out when she told him to leave because he wanted to charge her $300 to get into her car when she was locked out. I thought he looked familiar, but I didn't remember when we were face to face. check out this website to know more and please don't be scammed like us. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/19714358/ns/business-consumer_news/t/locked-out-dont-f...

Shaked Druyan (an individual contractor; of which we were unaware) was dispatched to our company to repair a lock and when we received our invoice we notice it was for a different company, one of whom has scammed people over and over by causing more damage to the locks to charge more or to make it so he has to return and charge more. He returned for a third and final time when we began to do some digging.

- Culver City, CA, USA

The google ad shows prices of $19 for a service call and $39 for residential lock-out services. The final price was $422!!!!!!

We called this company to unlock my stepdaughters car after she locked herself out. I asked what the charge would be to get her car open. The man said that it would be a $19 service fee. I asked again what the total would be and he said $35.00. I asked if we could turn them away if they wanted more and he said yes. When the man came to open the car, he did not discuss the total charge to open the car but hurriedly opened the car and presented my husband with a $129.00 bill. There and gone in 10 minutes. I called the phone number on the bill, there was no address and the lady was rude and said that they were not the people I talked to and that I should call them back. When I did the man told me that he firmly believed that I heard only what I wanted to hear. I think this company is dishonest and should be reported as a scam.

24/7 locksmith advertised on google for locksmith came out and said it would be $179 to unlock my car. When I refused to pay the price he got loud and changed the price said $100. He would not take no for an answer. He could not provide ID or business credentials. As well as his vehicle was not professional as in car had all inside trashed with no sign on vehicle and driving a personal automobile.

on top of it all they advertise something that may not be legal.
