I recently rented a car through Budget (Rental U676995200 OCT 11, 2023) and requested they not include the toll service as I had my own SUNPASS. In addition to the charges from the state of FL on my SUNPASS, The Highway Toll Administration, LLC charged me additional funds of $23.79, 10-days later. I called Budget and then Highway Toll LLC who told me it was a convenience fee as well as for tolls that SUNPASS did not pick up. This makes no sense as I often take my personal car on the same trip to Orlando as I supervise an office there and I never have a problem with SUNPASS not picking up the charges on my personal car. This is the third time this has happened when I have rented a vehicle. The charges only appear when I rent a vehicle, and these additional fees are fraudulent. When I called the Highway Toll Administration LLC to remedy, they could not answer my question as to why this never happens in my personal car but only with rental vehicles.
