Scammed while trying to buy a Maine Coon kitten online

We were looking for a Maine [censored] cat; responded to their Web Site, HeavenlyMaineCoonKittens.com; they immediately responded. We went back and forth on the selection. Post selection, they sent over a contract and Venmo info. It seemed legit up to this point. They offered Zelle & Venmo for payment method; I could never get Venmo to work so ended up using Zelle. I had to add them as a new recipient, the email they gave me was [email protected]. My bank limits $500 per day for a new recipient. they then wanted us to go to Wal-Mart to get a gift card and then send a picture of the front and back of the card; I told them no and that they will get the balance of $300 the next day. Being stupid, I set this up to auto-send. After the $300 was sent the next day, I started asking about shipping details; after a few hours we received an email from ASL Logistics <[email protected]>; it contained a tracking number (***********). Shortly thereafter I received a phone call but was on a work call so couldn't answer. I then received a text from the same number saying they were trying to contact me about the shipment of our kitten. My husband called them back; they told him the seller had dropped off the kitten in an unsafe crate but they offered crate rental and would send us an email with the details. Email received and they wanted from $975 to $1875 for a stupid crate; they said we would get 95% back when the kitten was delivered. They were using statements like you have to hurry or the flight would be missed. They would only take cash (another red flag). In short, I ended up sending $200 to this email [email protected]. The first email the guy wanted me to use was [email protected] (Barry Brooks). They kept calling me from 210-674-9487 & 210-674-9744.

Obviously I feel like a fool by this time so I started researching and found many people have been scammed for this exact same manner.

In closing, I obviously never received the kitten and lost a total of $1,000. I'm told they will send me back my money but I know that is not going to happen.

I can't tell if the attachment field allows for more than one attachment but I have all the evidence if needed.

Maine Coon kitten seller tries to deliver different cat and won't refund deposit

Maine [censored] Kitten sales from HeavenlyMaineCoonKittens.com. Offer maybe [censored] kittens on website but try to deliver different cat than advertised. Have continuously tried to contact them about getting my $400 deposit back with no answer. Also refuses to let me make the drive for pick up and insists on delivery. Trying to receive full payment before I have seen the animal in person. They are impersonating Maine [censored] breeders.
