I applied to a remote job listing as a data entry clerk. I received an email that detailed the onboarding process for the company. Because it is a remote job, they stated that they would provide the home office equipment for me but needed to deposit a check to my bank account so that I could then go ahead and buy the equipment from "company-approved vendors." I received another email stating that they need alternative banking information because they cannot deposit checks to accounts that associated with my bank, "due to delays in processing and check rejections."
