Type of a scam Phishing
In order to collect more information about the call I said yes to the robot, yes to the first person.
That first person asked for and collected a license plate number. I gave them random letters-numbers from my head.
She also asked make and car model. I gave them a make and model I used to own.
I did this to gather more information. She referred me to a 'finance rep'.
I decided to report this to the ScamPulse.com when they gave me a company name, Hawk Auto Repair, searched on Google, found it at the Top of the Google response above Hawks Auto Repair.
Address provided was two a different company. Phone on the web site was machine answered, placed the call on hold, then eventually went to VM.
I spent extra time placing Brad the 'finance rep' on mute intermittently till he started asking questions about that.
I indulged deal negotiations regarding plan details and pricing for about 5 minutes then told them that I could not justify the product price.
I am reporting this because the sight looks fake, the phone number area code 346 does not match other businesses in the area phone numbers and because the search results were above other seemingly legitimate businesses.
So while I file this complaint about the fake business, it should also be noted that Google participated in this scam by presenting the sight in it's search results.
I do that fully understanding the laws and conditions disclaimers protecting Google protects them from adverse action, but those laws and disclaimers should also protect me from consequences for just pointing that out.
