Globaltek MD Reports & Reviews (1)

- Portland, OR, USA

I called the IRS for assistance with a tax matter. The two agents I spoke with said that I needed to speak with someone in another department. The first agent transferred me to the second. The second IRS agent told me that I needed to call 1-800-777-3306 for them to assist me. She didn’t transfer me which I thought was odd. I called the number automatically trusting that the agent gave me info for another IRS back office number. The guy that answered had a very thick accent. Very hard to understand. I thought odd that the IRS would have an employee extremely difficult to understand. He kept asking me questions and I gave him info assuming he was verifying who I was in order to assist me. He said that he was going to read me something but it had nothing to do with my account, to just ignore it and say yes after and to not interrupt. If I had any questions he would answer after. I kept saying what account that I was calling about my IRS account. I told him none of this was making sense. I told him that I wasn’t purchasing anything and he assured me I wasn’t paying for anything and I wouldn’t be charged. He speed read something where I was completely unable to understand anything he said. At the end I said ok, I don’t understand what that has to do with my IRS account. He said I needed to call 1-800-373-3411 and they could help me there and he immediately hung up on me. He never denied that he was IRS. The whole thing didn’t feel right. I called the number he gave me and apparently it’s just a 411 type number. I immediately hung up and called my bank fearing I had been conned. Sure enough, as I was on hold waiting to speak to an agent at my bank, a charge was coming through and it was labeled Globaltek MD. I have received a couple emails from them since and it says that I signed up for some service (no idea what it is) and I will be charged monthly. I immediately called them. I was told that I was speaking with scheduling and that I needed to call another department. I asked to be transferred but was hung up on. This repeated four more times after I got hung up on. Finally I asked for the number for customer service. Reached someone and they said they are a legit company and that they would cancel and refund the $ they took. That has yet to happen. I tried to call them again a week later to find out where the refund is, I was put over into a voicemail and haven’t received a call back. I have spend hours and hours trying to cancel my card, get in touch with the IRS as to why an agent even gave me the number, trying to recover my $ from Globaltek. It’s been to put it kindly, extremely frustrating. I pray that no one has to go through this with this company. Very deceitful and dishonest!
