Gallet Olie Cattery Reports & Reviews (1)

I was searching for a Siamese cat breeder on the East Coast, and found Gallet Olie Cattery through a Google Search. They have what first appeared to be a legitimate website (thai-cats.com) and a Facebook page (facebook.com/SiameseMaryland). The supposed "breeder" contacted me to share that they had a new litter of kittens and asked if I wanted to reserve one. They quoted a sales price of $1,000 and requested a deposit for $200 to reserve a kitten. After sharing how I could pay the deposit, I asked the "breeder" for a picture of the kitten. They referred me back to their website which doesn't have any new/current photos. Their inability to share a photo made me nervous, so I asked for a copy of the purchase contract (standard practice for breeders) and health guarantee (very standard information considering the price). They didn't have a contract to share and said there was no health guarantee because my vet would need to provide first set of shots. This made me even more nervous because it was so unusual, so I asked for a recommendation from an owner of a kitten from a previous litter. The person stopped communicating with me right away. I then started poking around more on their website and Facebook page and noticed key information was missing in comparison to other breeder sites. I also did a reverse image search and found that the majority of the photos of "their cats" were stock photos that can be purchased online. I have zero doubts that this person was trying to scam me and has no breeding program or kittens for purchase.
