I received a letter from Angel Oak Capital Advisors. I am not a client and this was the first correspondence I have ever received from them. They asked me to call them immediately because of "an important matter related to my investment." I was suspicious so I went to the actual business site of Angel Oak and the number the letter provided was not on their site. I called the number of the website and spoke with a customer service representative who did not recognize the number nor did they think this was a type of letter that they would send out. The letter provided me with an Investor ID and Security ID and Shares Owned but not an Account ID. The letter was also signed by the president which seemed fishy as well.
