Letter advised of the death of a relative with the same last name who left an unclaimed life insurance policy in the amount of $10,910,900. Requested that I become a partner with the lawfirm of Eric Levitt Law Office for 50/50 split of 90% of proceeds with remainder to go to charity in exchange for making a claim because I have the same last name and the same nationality. I have never heard of a relative by this name and after researching on internet discovered other people with different names received similar letters seeking to claim an identical life insurance proceed amount. The letter is dated August 24, 2026 which is in proximity to reports by other people who received similar letters.

The scam letter offered me to share proceeds from the "permanent life insurance" of a supposedly dead relative whom I never heard of. The letter further stipulated that proceeds were to be split and that the process was 100% risk free. The problems are as follows: The letter is from a Canadian law firm soliciting business in the US (not legal), the letter came postmarked from a post office in Georgia (US) and the scammer provides a GMail address for "private" contact.

He offered to add my name to his deceased client's life insurance policy to claim $10,910,900, since our last names were the same. He requested the funds be shared with him. He asked to be privately contacted at: [email protected].

Scammer asked me to apply for unclaimed “permanent life insurance” in the name of a deceased person with my last name. Scammer claims to be a Toronto lawyer, but letter was postmarked from Atlanta Georgia.

Received unsolicited postal mail from Eric Levitt Law regarding unclaimed life insurance from a potential relative. Out of curiosity to see if my suspicions were correct as to if it's a scam, I responded by email. Their follow up asked for some personal information, to which I did not reply.
