Received a pre-recorded phone call to our office saying Entergy was disconnecting us remotely today. I pressed a number to speak to someone who then identified themselves a David ********* Supervisor. He said we had not paid our bill and we scheduled to have power cut off ASAP. Argued w/e when I said we could pay at the Entergy office on Canal Street, saying that would be "too late" and we had to go to CVS or $ General, take cash and then receive a payment voucher which we then needed to call him back with and give the number. I was trying to access our bank account to see if our check had cleared and couldn't get to it fast enough to avoid disconnection. This is a business and we have 4 accounts w/Entergy. They did not have any account numbers but I think goit our street address from our phone number which they called on.

They start the call with a recording saying that your lights are due to be cut off that day. You then are given a 800 number to call or press 1 to speak to someone. When you press one they tell you that your lights are going to be cut off. I asked them if they could tell me the balance on account. Of course they could not. After I told them that I know that we have no balance they hung up. This is not the first time these people have done this. Last time I played along to see what they would say and they tell you to get a money pack card to pay the bill.

Two separate phone calls from 2 different people (both with Indian accents) claiming to be Entergy reps stating at 3pm today the electricity would be turned off so that a new meter would be installed.

I placed a call to Entergy to verify info which I was told it was a scam and it was not the first call they received about these phone calls.

Received a call with caller id Entergy Svcs, I was told that i had 30 minutes to pay my entergy bill. I knew I did not owed anything so I question it. They gave me another phone number where I was told again that I should have reveived pink envelopes warning me that electricity was going to be cut off. She told me that in order to stop the technicians from cutting the electricity I had to pay $250 which it was refundable. I verified with Entergy and as I knew II did not have any balance. This scam was target to Spanish speaking people as they spoke spanish to me

Whoever calls from ###-###-#### or any variation of this number be it #225 with foreign agents that threaten to cut off your power in 30 mins only wants to gain access to your personal info, banking etc. Clearly If they represent a utility company they should have your account number not you provide it to them. I requested to speak with a manager several times and never did anyone come on the phone, after i insisted that payment was made automatic they simply didn't come back to the phone. Be Aware and don't accept anyone calling or bringing problems before you verify, it's very easy to react than think tell them you will call entergy or whoever is threatening to do anything.... For the record you should verify entergy's number and call them before falling into the hands of scammers.....Also, take the next step and report this to your local better business bureau, news media and everywhere so they inform the public....

First of all, the caller ID listed as unknown. That was the first red flag. He was a forigenor, probably Vietmaniese. He identified himself as calling from Entergy. Another red flag. If it was Entergy, it would have shown on my caller ID as Entergy. He wanted my account number. I told him that I didn't have that information in front of me at the time. He asked for the account name, and I told him my name. And he asked for the address where this service was connected. I gave it to hem. Big mistake! I didn't realize it when I did it. He told me that my account was scheduled to be turned off today for non payment. I laughed at him and told him that that was impossible, since I had automatic pay. Than he asked if I could hold for a minute while he checked. He put me on hold for a time, with music playing in the background, came back and told me that My automatic payment things had expired, and that I owed for the last two months. He told me that I would be getting forms in the mail to restart the automatic payment. But that unless I payed the past due amount, my service would be turned off today. Another red flag. I don't think Entergy is turning off anyone's power right now dut to Covid 19. I knew what the next question would be. He would want banking information. So I told him that I was sorry, but I was have to call Entergy myself directly, because I thought this might be a scam. Immediate disconnect. I knew it! The # they called from was very close to the customer service number for Entergy. Theirs was 367m Entergy's is 368. Their number was 504-367-8899. Hope you can catch them. They were very convencing. They always are. I called Entergy immediately and reported the scam. I told them exactly what I have written here.

They called on behalf of Entergy stating that my service is scheduled to be disconnected in a hour if I don’t make a payment. I informed them that Entergy is not disconnecting service due to the pandemic. They said, that’s not correct because they need to pay their employees. I told them that I’m going to call Entergy to verify the information. They got mad and hung up.

Said he was with Entergy and that my service is due to be disconnected today if I didn't make payment, I needed to call another number and make payment. I hung up and call Entergy number on my bill and that payment was processed yesterday....

The caller initially was a recorded message, "Entergy is calling about your delinquent account and this is the last opportunity to correct before service is disconnected. Press 1 to speak to a representative.

I pay my billing by auto draft, so I knew this was a scam. I pressed 1 and the phone was answered by someone asking if they could help me. I said you called me and he said this was Entergy. I asked him to repeat it and again he said Entergy. I told him this was not a valid call and to remove me from his phone list. I then hung up.

The caller pretended to be a rep from Entergy New Orleans calling about a past debt. He informed me that I owed $300. When I produced my own records and questioned the charges, he hung up and refused to pick up when I called back.

Someone called and claimed to be Entergy saying that I had a past due bill and I needed to pay it. The recording that they used sounded very real and convincing, but I knew that my bill was paid and I did not owe anything. After I hung up they tried to call again, but I ignored the call.

The first call was automated and it said to call the number listed above. When I called, a man with a accent said our Entergy bill would be shut off in 30 minutes if we did not pay immediately. He said we owed $489.22. When I started questioning him he became angry and said "I have told you this three times!" I hung up and contacted our corporate office.

Scammer called our church claiming we had a past due electric bill and need to pay $492 by 4:00 today or the electricity would be cut off. we were to call Anthony Miles at x101 after going to Walmart to purchase a gift card and give them the numbers off the back.

Number called from 1 (800) 425 7355, message claimed my Entergy power would be cut off in 30 minutes for non-payment of last bill, unless I

call 1 (800) 530 1603, which I did. Formal message by Entergy person instructing you to press 1 for blank, blank and make a payment, and 2 for

X, Y, and z. Upon pressing 1 a heavy foreign sounding woman came on, my question was, you work for Entergy and you can't speak English, what country are you from? Click she was gone!

A recording tells you that your lights are about to get cut off. After you press one you get connected to someone who tells you to avoid your lights getting cut off you need to go buy a money pak card with 255.26 to take care of your past due balance. The guy (says his name is Charles Baker) then gives you a number for the billing department to call back with the money pak card number to pay your bill. I called him back and told him I payed my bill at Entergy and he tried to tell me my lights would still be cut off. Then I guess he got frustrated and hung up.

Got a call that my electric bill was overdue and my power would be shut off unless I called with payment into to 888-660-5975. I called Entergy and they confirmed my account is in good standing. This was someone trying to get me to give them my bank account or debit card number.

- New Orleans, LA, USA

They called and said it was Entergy and they were cutting off my electric in 1/2hr. but I could pay now. Well, I knew I paid my bill but contacted Entergy to be sure and they made a note on my acct. because she said probably a scam and would never call and say they will be there in 1/2hr.But I know others might just give info out.really sad that they have people out there doing this. Thanks Dawn

A caller claiming his name was Paul Williams from Entergy called my business phone on Sept. 9, 2019. He said that my electricity was being turned off because my last 3 payments were received but were posted to a different account and they're trying to rectify their mistake. But in the meantime, he said I had to pay or my electricity will be turned off. Said I should pay now and they'd send me 3 reimbursement checks. And that if I didn't pay now, I would have to pay extra for reconnecting. They gave me a 6-digit work order #. I refused and he hung up. I then called the Entergy phone# listed on my bill and they said to report it here, that mine was the 2nd similar call to this and that they'd let one know well in advance before turning off electricity - and that they never request payment over the phone. And their order #s are always 12-16 digits long.
