Encore Autographs Reports & Reviews (2)

My wife purchased what was presented as an autographed ‘The Good the Bad the Ugly’ piece from the user Pyramid/Encore Autographs for $200. It was advertised as authentic with a certificate of authenticity.

The piece turned out to be a very low grade/blurry print out with brand new sharpie on it. Quick google searches showed that the signatures did not match authentic ones, and it was printed on ‘FujiFilm Quality Dry Photo Paper’ which is printed all over the back of the piece... A quick google search also shows that this paper was not even produced until nearly a decade after one of the ”signers” had already died. So it’s blatantly impossible to be authentic.

The “certificate of authenticity” was also a poor quality print out with no names or signatures of who authenticated the piece on it. The number on the certificate did not even correspond to anything anywhere to include their own website.

We contacted the seller, Pyramid/Encore Autographs, through their site and through their email, pointed out all of the blatant indicators of fraud (to include sending photographs), and they stated that they would give us a refund upon its return. We complied, provided all tracking information, and have not heard from them since... despite sending MULTIPLE emails through their site and to their email, and having USPS tracking confirmation of its return.

Thankfully we documented everything, to assist with the PayPal claim.

It’s obvious, even on 3rd party sites, that they are using this platform to mislead customers into buying fraudulent pieces. It seems the ones that catch it, get ignored too. You can easily see on these sites how the signatures on multiple pieces of the same person are in identical spots (and look identical) like they are printed out on a home computer on that high quality paper and traced in sharpie... or they just don’t even match an authentic signature if someone looks them up when they get them.

- Millersville, PA, USA

I purchased several items from Joseph P. Ranoia, owner of Encore Autographs located in Millersville PA in April of 2016. I was assured by the business owner that these items were authentic and came with certificate of authenticity, he even gave me lengthy story as to how autographs were obtained.

I searched ScamPulse.com for any complaints filed before purchase and there were none. I framed these items and listed them for sale. To my surprise I was directly contacted by the alleged signer only to be told that they were forgeries.

I contacted the seller numerous times and did not receive a reply, left messages on phone and third attempt at calling my number was blocked. I then contacted my bank and began a dispute.

Today I was paying bills and noticed several charges on my credit card that were unauthorized. I contacted bank immediately and found out the charges were made by Encore Autographs. I was told by bank to contact BBB and submit a police report.

Avoid this company at all costs and if you have dealt with them in the past check your payment method to see if they ran any additional charges against you.
