Scam

Florida. I filled out a card for a chance to win a free trip for two to the Bahamas. I received a text message in December saying I had won and text me a picture of the form I filled out. So I text back and they informed me that I won a free trip but the woman sounded like she was asleep and coughing and obviously working from home. I ignored my concern because I did fill out this form at a business so I figured it was real. On top of the free vacation they said there was a special offer to also take a free cruise just pay the taxes and I could pay it over time. So I split the payments up and paid $39 to set up account. $79 in December thru March totaling $316 for cruise admin fee and they port taxes of $258 in June. I could not find any reviews of anyone who actually took this trip and online there was people saying they had experienced the same thing and when they asked for a refund they either got hung up on or just got the run around. I tried to cancel but they told me I would not get my money back that I have paid so far even though I had not even set up the trip dates yet. So I scheduled the travel dates than they sent me a message saying I have to pay $951. For the resort taxes. And a daily resort fee of another $79 a day and an extra charge of $19 at night. I picked a date in November and they said it had to be paid a month before traveling. I didn’t have the money to so I put it off til the 1st thinking it would be ok they cancelled our trip won’t give any money back saying we can pass the trip to somebody else This may not be a bonified scam but it is disingenuous and misleading and feels illegal. I would like not money back and put this out there to warn people that this is not a free trip.

They told me out of all the money I paid I would only maybe get back $158. This may not be a bonified scam but it is disingenuous and misleading and feels illegal. I would like not money back and put this out there to warn people that this is not a free trip.

We booked this trip after “winning” the trip at the mall. We had it all set up and paid for the full cruise to get there but there was an issue with the cruise setting sail on time to get us there so we just cancelled the whole thing. Emerson travel REFUSED to give us the money back from the cruise basically cancelling on us. The cruise ship even stated in the letter for cancelling that all cruises should be refunded if you wanted to just cancel. But Emerson wouldn’t give it back to us. DO NOT BOOK THIS you will regret it

Won a Vacation

There was a travel sweepstakes box at the mall where people could fill out a little paper with your name and number for a chance to win a trip to the Bahamas. I received a text stating that I won. I called and set it up but they have taken $79.99 out of my bank since January 4th. I cannot afford this and I don't know what to do. I have been off work for months due to health issues.

I've had brain surgery my son diagnosed with cancer my daughter's father passed away all in 6 mo time. They refuse to give me 40 dollars back. Heartless. With covid I can't take risks for the sake of my son as well as myself. I literally can prove everything. 40 dollars to me right now is 500. I'm crying I'm sorry.

They said I was too fat to get on the cruise. Obviously unprofessional. They continued by saying that I could come if I paid for an extra seat on the boat as I may sink it If the spot isn't filled. Obviously a lie.

I filled out a ticket entry to win for a free 5 day, 4 night trip for 2 to the Bahamas and won. They claimed I would only have to pay for my flight and transportation and pay $39.98 to accept the trip. Then if I wanted to do the cruise I would have to pay $140 per person for the cruise. Then every time I furthered my trip something else would pop up that I would have to pay for like port fees and then then the hotel resort fees and taxes per person. Then soon this "Free trip" turned into a $1500 trip that I was not aware of. When I called to cancel and get my refund, they refused to return my money and it is just an overall scam.

I received a text yesterday stating that I won. I looked up the travel agency info but it looked like it only specialized in trips to the Bahamas. I looked up the two separate numbers and both were located in Florida but when I looked up the name, the business itself was located in Hawaii. Doesn’t sound legit to me.
